There are only three NBA games for us to break down tonight, but we won’t have any issues finding value with all the guys already sidelined. Our key source of value as of now is the San Antonio Spurs, who are sitting Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, and Jakob Poeltl. The Spurs look fantastic how they are priced here, so we will have a few of them if more injuries ar3ent announced. We also have an interesting situation at the top end of the slate tonight, as we can roster most of the bona fide stars available. The challenge will be finding an edge in GPPs here, so we will focus on some more contrarian options as well as the value locks.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 4/9/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardT. Jones $5,400
Shooting GuardP. George $9,300
Small Forward
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward
Utility

The $5,400 price tag on Tre Jones is a bit surprising here, as we expected him to be priced up significantly. Jones has started for Murray in each of the past four games, and he has gone over 30 FPTS in each of them. He is playing a ton of floor time right now, so at $5,400 he has great a great floor and ceiling. Jones will be very high owned here, but this is not where we want to get different.

On a bigger slate a $9,300 Paul George would probably not be one of our core plays, but tonight we can afford to roster him and everyone else we want to spend up for. George is the only star on this team, so he always has a ton of upside. The Clippers have a fantastic matchup tonight against the Sacramento Kings, so we are not hesitating to roster George here.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 4/9/22 (using DraftKings Values)

The only star we are shying away from here is Ja Morant who has not played in a few weeks. We would be surprised if Morant dives in with a ton of minutes, and his ownership will be higher than it should be given the lack of options. We are still waiting to see if Morant plays here, but we do not expect him to take on his full load.

Point Guard

Jordan Poole – ($8,000 DK) Poole has been consistently crushing in the stretch without Steph Curry, as he is averaging 48.5 FPTS over the past ten days. Poole looks fantastic tonight with Klay Thompson joining Curry on the sideline, as he should see even more usage while on the floor. The Warriors have a great matchup against the fast-paced Spurs tonight, so Poole is another priority.

Shooting Guard

Davion Mitchell – ($7,000 DK) The Sacramento Kings have been playing with a few massive injuries for a little while now, which has led to Mitchell stepping up as their clearcut number one option. He has been fantastic and went for 41.3 FPTS in the last game. Mitchell does everything for this team, and we expect the Kings will want to keep developing him with big minutes.

Small Forward

Andrew Wiggins – ($6,200 DK) Wiggins is coming in at a nice price here, and there is room for him to really take over with both Curry and Thompson sidelined. Wiggins has a ton of upside in this spot, and it is amplified by a great matchup with the Spurs.

Power Forward

Keita Bates-Diop – ($3,000 DK) We know that Bates-Diop doesn’t see too much floor time when everyone is healthy, but that is far from the case tonight. The Spurs are especially thin at the power forward position, which is where we expect Bates-Diop to pick up a ton of floor time tonight. The $3,000 price tag is always great, and he has some real upside given the circumstances.

Center

Zach Collins – ($4,500 DK) With both Poeltl and Johnson sidelined for the Spurs here, there are not many options for big men in San Antonio. Collins looks fantastic at $4,500, as we expect him to start and see a ton of run. Collins is currently averaging 27 FPTS over the past ten days, and he has shown some huge nights recently.

General strategy

We must continue watching the news here, as at this point in the season we expect a ton of guys to be ruled out. Most teams playing tonight also do not have to win, so they could decide to rest some guys. As of now, we are going to be absolutely stacking the Spurs for Cash games and getting to a few of them for tournaments as well. A good option for GPPs is to get to whatever Spurs don’t start, as they will surely be less owned. We are also happy getting fewer Spurs and more Warriors for bigger tournaments. Good luck tonight, and make sure to watch for further announcements.
