We are back with another three-game slater here, and some of the options tonight are fantastic. We have some ridiculous price tags on a lot of studs, so we can put together a very strong midrange lineup. There are not too many budget options tonight, but we don’t need too many cheap guys with the way the studs are priced. We are getting to some especially crazy prices from the Chicago Bulls, but we are really interested in plays across the slate tonight.

Recently anointed DPOY Marcus Smart looks fantastic tonight, as he is coming in at only $5,800. Smart was great against the Nets in game one, scoring over 42 FPTS. He took on a bigger role in terms of minutes and usage, which is what we expect to see from Smart during the playoffs. Smart has a ton of upside in this spot, and we do not need to spend much on it.
Zach Lavine is just comically underpriced at only $7,200, so this price makes him a top priority. Lavine averaged 39 FPTS in the regular season, and we know he is going to take on a massive role down one game against the Bucks. Lavine was good last game with 40 FPTS, but what makes him such a great play is his upside to explode. At this price, he really checks every box for us.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 4/20/22 (using DraftKings Values)
We are very light on guys at the top end today, as we have so many cheap studs like Lavine that offer great upside at a fraction of the cost. Giannis Antetokounmpo is easily the best DFS producer on this slate, but $10,900 is just too much to pay for one guy with some of the other options tonight.
Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• One superstar who is way too cheap here.
• Our favorite budget option to get tonight.
• A few more midrange studs we are targeting.
• How we are approaching Cash games and Tournaments tonight.
Point Guard
James Harden – ($8,900 DK) The reason Antetokounmpo is a fade for us tonight is that we can get to a play like Harden for $2,000 less. Paying $8,900 for 40+ minutes of Harden is about a smash as we can get. He has as much upside as anyone else in the NBA, so he gives our lineup a lot of potential at only $8,900. Harden is the most expensive guy we are getting to tonight, as the rest of our priorities are all under $8,000.
Shooting Guard
Fred VanVleet – ($7,500 DK) VanVleet was a priority for us last time at this exact price, and he smashed with 46 FPTS. He proved that $7,500 is far too cheap for him, as he took on a massive role in a game the Raptors wanted desperately to win. VanVleet played the entire first half last game and played 43.5 total minutes despite it not staying very close. No one should be surprised if FVV plays 48 minutes in a close game tonight, so he has the potential to put out a giant performance.
Danny Green – ($3,600 DK) We do not have a lot of budget options tonight, so Green really stands out as a viable play under $4,000. Green played a whopping 38 minutes last time out, and his minutes are more solidified tonight with Matisse Thybulle out of the mix. Green went for 23.5 FPTS last game, and anything over 20 would be great for us in this spot.
Al Horford – ($6,400 DK) Horford was a huge part in ensuring the Celtics win against the Nets in game one, and he was very productive with over 45 FPTS. Horford did a bit of everything for this team, going for big scoring and rebounding totals. We expect Horford to continue playing significant run at the five with Robert Williams out, so he has a lot of upside here.
Center
Nikola Vucevic – ($7,300 DK) We were all over Vucevic at $7,700 last time out, and after he crushed with 56.75 FPTS it is surprising to find him significantly cheaper tonight. Vucevic crushed on the glass last game and took on a whopping 27 shot attempts, as the Bulls relied on his scoring more than usual. We like getting to a center like Vucevic in the playoffs, and it is hard to imagine Vucevic killing us at only $7,300.
General strategy
There is a ton of value in the price tags of stars tonight, so we can get to a very high-upside lineup. Our favorite lineup tonight is going to be squeezing all the priorities we mentioned into a midrange build, and that is going to be the direction we go for Cash games. We are going with a similar strategy for Tournaments, but we want a few guys we expect to be more contrarian. DeMar DeRozan is a GPP priority for us here, as he is taking crazy usage and his ownership should be lowered by the great price tags on his teammates. Good luck, and enjoy the basketball tonight.
