After a few crazy slates, we have a smaller three-game main slate to talk about for tonight. There are a lot fewer injuries going around than we have had lately, so we do not have the same overwhelming value situation. With that said, there are still some great places to take our lineup if we know where to look. We have some great budget plays here, and they may be a bit harder for people to find than some of the obvious injury-related value.
Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 4/2/22 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | K. Lowry | $5,700
Shooting Guard | |||
Small Forward | |||
Power Forward | K. Durant | $11,000
Center | |||

The price tag on Kyle Lowry really stands out tonight, as he is coming in at only $5,700. Lowry is averaging 33 FPTS on the season, and we rarely see him under $6,000. He always has great upside, and the Heat have a great matchup against the Bulls. Lowry has a great floor at $5,700, and a big game could make him a must-have in this spot.
We are at an interesting point in the season where games will be very important for some teams and somewhat irrelevant for others. There is a three-way tie in the East to determine play-in seeding, and two of those teams play tonight with the Nets and the Hawks. Kevin Durant is a priority for us here, as we expect him to take on a bigger role in a must-win game. Durant is also the best DFS producer on this slate, so he looks good if we can find the salary to get to him.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 4/2/22 (using DraftKings Values)
There are not many guys we are fading all together tonight, as most studs are priced well and there are only three games. One guy we will be passing on for single entry is Kyrie Irving, who is still too expensive at $10,300. We do like the Nets tonight, but at this price, we need a massive night out of Irving. We have some great studs elsewhere for $2,000 – $3,000 cheaper.
Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• A stud guard who is way too cheap tonight.
• One budget wing who has been in the starting lineup.
• One cheap star with great upside.
• An underpriced star center.
Point Guard
Jordan Poole – ($7,200 DK) Poole has been a dynamic DFS producer over the past few weeks, as he has been the Warrior’s number one option offensively with Steph Curry sidelined. Poole scored 64.25 FPTS last time out, and he has gone over 40 FPTS in four of his past five games. Poole has been priced down $1,000 since his huge performance last game, which makes him a fantastic value for tonight’s slate.
Shooting Guard
Max Strus – ($3,800 DK) Strus is currently questionable, but he started the last two games, and we are watching for if that remains to be the case. We do not have a ton of cheap value tonight, so guys who are playing a lot of minutes under $4,000 look great. Strus played over 30 minutes in each of the past two games, and he showed some upside last time with 34.75 FPTS.
Zach Lavine – ($7,400 DK) Lavine is facing a tough matchup against the Miami Heat tonight, so we may look elsewhere for Cash games. However, he still has a ton of upside, and is coming in at only $7,400 tonight. Lavine is a guy who can easily go over 50 FPTS, which would make him a winning play in this spot.
Patrick Williams – ($3,400 DK) Williams missed 65 games with a wrist injury, but we saw him return to NBA action a few weeks ago. He has been slowly coming back to full health, as he has taken on some serious minutes over the past few games. He played 25 minutes two games ago and was on the floor for 37 minutes in the last game. We are expecting Williams to see some solid floor time moving forward, and this $3,400 will likely rise soon.
Rudy Gobert – ($7,600 DK) Gobert is averaging 41.2 FPTS on the season and he always has the upside to go for a big game. He is coming in at a fantastic price of $7,600 here, so he looks good on a slate without too many options. He showed his upside last time out with 52.75 FPTS, and the Warriors are a solid matchup for him tonight.
General strategy
With only three games on this one, we do not have the overwhelming amount of value we have had on the past few slates. This one is a lot more interesting than a slate like we saw last night where we had fantastic value in every spot. For Cash games, Lowry and Williams will be our biggest priorities, while Locking in Durant will be our favorite spend-up option. We are watching for any injuries here, as any big names being ruled out would really flip this slate on its head.
