As we head into Sonoma Race week, we will have to look at drivers’ stats and history from other road courses as we build our lineup this week. Another great part about this weekend is we are back to practice and qualifying. This week we are going to focus on finding value by looking at previous top contenders at this speedway. There are quite a few value drivers that you can insert into your lineup. Let’s now take a deep dive into who I think you can insert into your lineup for the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on 06/06/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Martin Truex Jr $ 10,900
Driver #2
Driver #3
Driver #4Tyler Reddick $ 8,000
Driver #5Chris Buescher $ 7,200
Driver #6  $ 6,900

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Toyota Save Mart 350 atSonoma Raceway on 06/06/2021 (Fanduel Values)

Driver #1Martin Truex Jr $ 14,000
Driver #2
Driver #3
Driver #4
Driver #5  $ 7,200

Martin Truex Jr ($10,900 DK, $14,000 FD)

As the only driver this year with three wins, Martin Truex Jr, is as hot as they come in the Cup Series. I do not think anyone is poised to win this race more than Truex. Truex has been one of two dominant drivers this year, along with Denny Hamlin, who I also like in this race, but didn’t pick due to value. So far in 2021 Truex has three wins, five top five finishes, eight top 10 finishes, and had led 627 laps. It is safe to say that Truex could be as sure of a bet for this week as they come. Couple his dominance with the fact that he has absolutely dominated Sonoma Raceway the last three years. In the last three years the Cup Series has raced at Sonoma twice, in those races Truex’s average finish is 1.0, of course meaning that he won both.  Truex has also been one of the best on road courses the last three years as he has two wins, six top five finishes, seven top 10 finishes, and had led 280 laps in 10 races. The only better driver has been Chase Elliot. My opinion, Truex turns his 19th place start into a top 10 standing quick and early and contends to win this race. If he can get to number one and can lead any number of laps, you are in for an elite DFS performance from Truex.

Tyler Reddick ($8,000 DK)

Tyler Reddick moved up to the Cup Series in 2020 and had a great rookie season with three top-five finishes and nine top 10 finishes. I have been enjoying everything I have seen from Reddick since he burst onto the scene in 2018 and 2019 winning eight races in the Xfinity Series while also being back to back champion those two years. For me, anytime I see Reddick at a good price point I am going to insert him into my lineup. Reddick has raced at road courses four times in the Cup Series, where he has one top 10 finish. Reddick has raced well on road courses in the last three years in Xfinity races however, where he has three top five finishes, four top 10 finishes, and top 20 in five of six races. I think Reddick provides a lot of value for his middle of the pack price point.

Chris Buescher ($7,200 DK)

Driving the Number 17 for Roush Fenway Racing, Chris Buescher has had a relatively normal year by his standards. In 15 races he has four top 10 finishes, which other then in 2020 would be tied for a season high. 2020 was by far Buescher’s best year as he had two top five finishes, eight top 10 finishes and led 33 laps. His 2021 lap led total is a career high with 71. In the two road races this year already Buescher has finished 11th at Daytona and 13th at Circuit of Americas. Overall, pretty good and consistent. With Buescher starting 12th this weekend, I think he is in for another top 10 finish.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on 06/06/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Martin Truex Jr $ 10,900
Driver #2Brad Keselowski $ 8,500
Driver #3Christopher Bell $ 8,400
Driver #4Tyler Reddick $ 8,000
Driver #5Chris Buescher $ 7,200
Driver #6Chase Briscoe $ 6,900

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on 06/06/2021 (Fanduel Values)

Driver #1Martin Truex Jr $ 14,000
Driver #2Ryan Blaney $ 10,000
Driver #3Brad Keselowski $ 9,200
Driver #4Christopher Bell $ 9,000
Driver #5Chase Briscoe $ 7,200

Ryan Blaney ($10,000 FD)

Coming in as one of the most expensive drivers this week on both platforms is Ryan Blaney. 2021 has been another great year for Blaney so far. Blaney got his first win of the season at Atlanta. Blaney has also added another two top-five finishes and six top 10 finishes while leading 231 laps. I think everyone can remember how the Busch Clash ended earlier this year as Chase Elliot and Ryan Blaney raced each other as hard as possible and ended up costing themselves the win as they made contact and Kyle Busch raced past them on the last corner. Over the last three years Blaney has one win, four top five finishes, five top 10 finishes and has led 30 laps in 10 Road Course races. Blaney has just a good of a chance to win this one as any of the favorites.

Brad Keselowski ($8,500 DK, $9,200 FD)

While not having the same success as some other drivers at road courses over the last three years, Brad Keselowski has still been a good pick in road races. In 10 races the past three years Keselowski has two top five finishes, three top 10 finishes and has led 39 laps. So far in 2021, Keselowski has had another good year. He has one win, five top five finishes, and has led 201 laps. Overall, not his best year, but he is consistent and always a threat to win. Keselowski can win any week and his low price point is good for us I guess as we get a phenomenal driver at good value.

Christopher Bell ($8,400 DK, $9,000 FD)

Driving the number 20 for Joe Gibbs Racing, Christopher Bell is one of 10 drivers who have already punched their playoff tickets with already securing a win this year. Ironically for this upcoming race, Bell got his career win earlier this year on the Daytona Road Course. Bell has not raced at Sonoma in his career, but he is having a good year in 2021. So far, he has one win, two top five finishes, and five top 10 finishes. In the Xfinity Series on road courses over the last three years Bell has six races that amount to one win, three top five finishes, four top 10 finishes and 37 laps led. I do not see a reason why Bell, who has a great history of success at road courses cannot put in another top five finish this weekend. He like Martin Truex Jr before will be a favorite to win.

Chase Briscoe ($6,900 DK, $7,200 FD)

All year I have been very excited to see what rookie Chase Briscoe can do in this Number 14 Stuart Haas Racing Ford this season. He has not had the success I thought he might have had out of the gun, but he will come around. Briscoe finished his Xfinity career in 2020 with nine wins, four more then the five-race goal that he set for himself. He was especially great at road courses the last three seasons where he had two wins, three top five finishes, six top 10 finishes and led a series most 135 laps. Yeah, he was good. Briscoe has shown so far that he may need a couple of races to adjust to the new challenges that driving in the Cup Series presents, however, his 2020 success could indicate otherwise. Chase should still be a lock for contention for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award and could very well be in the mix for a playoff spot in 2021. Look for him to have a good race this weekend. All you need to do is win one race, right.
