Kicking off the 2021 NASCAR season is the first exhibition race of the year, the Busch Clash. As the presumptive race in Speedweek that starts the countdown to the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 14, 2021. The awesome this about the Busch Clash this year is that it will be driven on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course. I have been loving road courses for the last couple of years. As an exhibition race, this one is invitation only and will include the following; the 2020 Busch Pole winners, past Busch Clash winner (must have competed in 2020 full-time), Daytona 500 champions (must have competed in 2020 full-time), 2020 Cup Series playoff drivers, 2020 Cup Series race winners, and 2020 Cup Series stage winners. Overall 24 drivers qualify for this race. For fantasy purposes, you will be able to pick from Aric Almirola, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Chris Buescher, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, William Byron, Cole Custer, Matt DiBenedetto, Austin Dillion, Ty Dillion, Chase Elliot, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Ryan Newman, Tyler Reddick, and Martin Truex Jr.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Busch Clash at Daytona International Speedway on 02/09/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1  $ 10,500
Driver #2Martin Truex Jr. $ 10,000
Driver #3  $ 8,600
Driver #4  $ 7,200
Driver #5  $ 6,300
Driver #6Cole Custer $ 5,800

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Busch Clash at Daytona International Speedway on 02/09/2021 (Fanduel Values)

Driver #1  $ 13,000
Driver #2Martin Truex Jr. $ 12,500
Driver #3  $ 8,000
Driver #4  $ 7,500
Driver #5Cole Custer $ 7,000

Martin Truex Jr: 2020 was a rather up and down year for Martin Truex Jr. After averaging 5.75 wins over 2016 – 2019, Truex was only able to win one race in 2020. On the flip side, Truex has been the second most dominant on road courses in the last three years. He has an average finish of 4.63, two wins, five top-five finishes, and seven top-ten finishes. There is no way in my mind that he doesn’t finish top five Tuesday night.

Cole Custer: In his rookie season Cole Custer was able to get his first career win, which for rookies is not the easiest thing to do. Custer raced on-road tracks twice last year. He did manage a ninth-place finish which is promising for him this week. In the Xfinity Series in 2019 Custer finished fourth and 13th in road races. I don’t see why Custer cannot compete for a top-five finish Tuesday night.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Busch Clash at Daytona International Speedway on 02/09/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Chase Elliot $ 10,500
Driver #2Martin Truex Jr. $ 10,000
Driver #3Ryan Blaney $ 8,600
Driver #4Erik Jones $ 7,200
Driver #5Tyler Reddick $ 6,300
Driver #6Cole Custer $ 5,800

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Busch Clash at Daytona International Speedway on 02/09/2021 (Fanduel Values)

Driver #1Chase Elliot $ 13,000
Driver #2Martin Truex Jr. $ 12,500
Driver #3Kurt Busch $ 8,000
Driver #4Tyler Reddick $ 7,500
Driver #5Cole Custer $ 7,000

Chase Elliot: There is not much to say here. Chase Elliot ($ 10,500 DK, $13,000 FD) has dominated road races the last three years. In eight Cup Series races, Elliot has won five of them, placed top five in six, top 10 in seven races, and has led 231 laps. His laps led total is more than the next two drivers; Martin Truex Jr. (142) and William Byron (71) have combined. The starting lineup will be picked at random this week. For me, I will put Elliot in my lineup no matter the cost. He is expensive but it will be worth your investment.

Erik Jones: This will be Erik Jones’ ($ 7,200 DK, $7,500 FD) first chance to shine in his new ride, driving the number 43 car for Richard Petty Motorsports. Jones has had some great success the last three years on road courses with three top-five finishes in eight races. Jones is also the reigning Busch Clash Winner from 2020. Jones showed he could climb the latter in the Go Bowling 235 at this same track last year as he started 20th and finished 11th. I think at his price this week he is a good value pick.

Ryan Blaney: The number 12 car driven by Ryan Blaney ($ 8,600 DK) has been one of the better drivers on road courses in the last three years. Blaney is with that one of a few drivers with a win at a road course after he won the Charlotte Roval race in 2018. Blaney is only being inserted into my Draft Kings lineup this week, strictly because of pricing this week. With four top-five finishes, and six top 10 finishes in eight races you cannot go wrong with Blaney this week.

Tyler Reddick: After a great rookie season Tyler Reddick is looking to make another splash in the NASCAR Cup Series. After qualifying for the race by winning stage one at Talladega Superspeedway in 2020. Reddick finished 2020 with three top-five finishes and nine top 10 finishes. He is in for a good year.

Kurt Busch: it blows me away that Kurt Busch ($ 8,000 FD) continues to be looked at as a middle of the pack driver. Busch can drive. Take this pick as my dark horse pick for the week. In his last eight road races, Busch has two top-five finishes, five top 10 finishes, and has an average finish of 10.13. Depending on the random draw for the starting lineup he could be in for some serious place differential points.
