After a week off the Xfinity Series returns for some Superspeedway racing. Wild-card Josh Berry left Martinsville victorious after coming out of nowhere to bring home the win. It was a good day for JR Motorsports, who had Berry first and Noah Gragson finish second, giving them the one-two punch. Daniel HemricTy Gibbs, and Brandon Jones rounded out the top-five. Here we go, it’s time to head to the BIG ONE. As we head into Talladega racing week, this seems like a unique week as there are quite a few value drivers this that you can insert into your lineup. Let’s now take a deep dive into who I think you can insert into your lineup for the AgPro 300 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the AgPro 300 at Talladega Superspeedway on 04/24/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Brandon Jones $ 10,200
Driver #2Austin Cindric $ 9,600
Driver #3Justin Haley $ 9,200
Driver #4
Driver #5
Driver #6  $ 5,300

Brandon Jones

Here I go again, picking Brandon Jones… again. Honestly how can you not, I know he is coming in as my most expensive driver this week, but the guy can drive, and he has shown it all year. Jones, along with Daniel Hemric are the only drivers in the Xfinity Series to have four top five finishes without a win. Jones has been oh, so close twice this year when he finished second at Homestead Miami and third at Las Vegas. Jones really turned his cold streak around last race at Martinsville, by turning a 24th place start into a fifth-place finish. Now, moving onto Jones’ record at Talladega the last three years, he has had some success. In four races, Jones has an average finish of 10.00, that’s pretty good. In those four races he has two top five finishes. I think Jones is in a great starting position (7) this week, we all know how fast things can change at “Dega” and I believe Jones will compete for the win all race.

Austin Cindric

Now on to this year’s top driver, Austin Cindric. 2021 has been very friendly to Cindric so far where he has two wins, five top-five finishes, six top 10 finishes, and has led 288 laps. All his statistics this year are Xfinity Series highs. His worst finish this year is 13th at Atlanta. At the end of the day there are not going to be many races this year where you can get Cindric for less then $10,000. Yes, I know that he starts this race on the pole, as he should, but he is going to be fast. Earlier this year Cindric raced in the Daytona 500 in the Cup Series, where he turned a 39th place start into a 15th place finish. Cindric is going to be moving up to the Cup Series next year, he has his sights set on loading up on Xfinity Series wins before he makes the jump. Cindric is the best driver with the best car, I say he wins this one and leads a ton of laps.

Justin Haley

I was a little surprised when I saw Justin Haley’s value this week. I mean he has only won two of the last three Xfinity Series race sat Talladega, that’s an accomplishment worthy of anything. Now I know Haley does not have a top five finish this year but on Superspeedways, he is a different driver. Just remember that Haley won at Daytona in the Cup Series in 2019. Hayley did not have a great showing earlier this year at Daytona but before that he had won three straight Superspeedways races in 2020, Talladega, Daytona, then Talladega again. Maybe some things only come in threes, but how can you ignore that in his career in both of Cup Series and Xfinity Series his four wins have come at Daytona and Talladega. To me it just seems like a matter of time before Haley can get his first top-five finish and at that first win of the year. He had 10 top 10 finishes in 2020, I see no reason why he doesn’t add another one here, while also contending for the win this week.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the AgPro 300 at Talladega Superspeedway on 04/24/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Brandon Jones $ 10,200
Driver #2Austin Cindric $ 9,600
Driver #3Justin Haley $ 9,200
Driver #4Jeb Burton $ 8,200
Driver #5Landon Cassill $ 7,100
Driver #6Gray Gaulding $ 5,300

Jeb Burton

I mentioned earlier that I thought there was incredible value in this race, well here is one of the drivers who I think comes extremely cheap for how optimistic I am for their chances to race well this week. Jeb Burton has had an excellent start to the 2021 season where he has three top-five finishes and five top 10 finishes. If you take out his 25th place finish at Atlanta, his only blunder, he has an average finish this year of 6.66. Talk about a great start to the year. Burton will race at Talladega for the second time in the last three years after finishing third in this race last year. In his last two races at Superspeedways, Burton has a third and fourth place finish. Burton has really come into his own this year after finally becoming a full-time driver in the Xfinity Series. Burton is going to start this race in the ninth position which will give him plenty of opportunity to lead some laps and contend for another top-five finish.

Landon Cassill

With a top-heavy lineup, what you need is value. I see a lot of value this week with Landon Cassill as I try to fit some of the top drivers in the series into my lineup this week. Cassill was a full-time driver in the Cup Series 2011 to 2019, before taking some time off. He returns this year to drive the Number Four for JD Motorsports in the Xfinity Series. In his career Cassill has one top-five finish and 14 top 10 finishes in the Xfinity Series. A top 10 of note is at Talladega in 2019 where he finished ninth. The appeal in Cassill this week is that he will start near the back in 32nd. Talladega is a very unpredictable speedway that often will have a quarter of the field eliminated by race end due to one or more large wrecks. If Cassill can have a clean race and finish, he is in a very good spot to potentially gain 10 or more spots.

Gray Gaulding

For someone with an average career finish at Talladega of 5.00, you would think that Gray Gaulding would be worth a little more this week. But lucky for us, Gaulding offers us some deep sleeper value for this race. In his two career races in the Xfinity Series at Talladega Gaulding had finished second and eighth. To add to that, of his two top-five finishes in the Xfinity Series, both have been on Superspeedways. Gaulding has yet to break the top 20 in a race this year but he has also been starting near the back of the pack each week. In seven races this year Gaulding has gained on average five spots from his starting position come race end. If you follow the numbers, then with Gaulding starting 24th this week he should be in for a top 20 finish.

Now go win your matchup and let us know how you did. Or if I picked every driver that will be in that lap 32 crash, I encourage you to let me hear it. Either way come find us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX).
