Monday Night Football DFS Showdown 50/50’s Core Advice (PHI @ DAL) for September 27, 2021

Jalen Hurts So Good
PHILADELPHIA, PA - NOVEMBER 30: Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts (2) stands in the huddle in the first half during the game between the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles on November 30, 2020 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA. (Photo by Kyle Ross/Icon Sportswire)

As we close out week three in the NFL, tonight is another battle in the NFC East between the Eagles and Cowboys. Dak Prescott will be looking to make it two in a row and take the lead in the division, but Jalen Hurts and the Eagles have other plans in mind, a win would put them in first place. As each team has a secondary in which can be thrown upon, we can see this game to have shoot-out capabilities. Stacking CeeDee Lamb with Dak would be preferred because Amari Cooper may see a lot of Darius Slay coverage.

The same can be done on the Phila side of the ball, because of the match-up being so even. DeVonta Smith  may mostly see  Trevon Diggs, so Dallas Goedert may be the route to go, as Dallas ranks 28th in defense against opposing tight ends.

Here’s What You Get If You Sign Up For $199 Per Year

  • Who we like in the Captain/MVP slot
  • Who to Fade
  • Other studs we like
  • Value to roster at Flex
  • General Strategy

Captain/MVP:

Jalen Hurts ($16,500 DK/$15,000 FD) has rushed for 144 yards in his first two games and the Cowboys are also giving up 346 passing yards per game, Hurts can put up fantasy points on both sides. Though the Cowboys may stack the box tonight, they can still be beaten in the air. Both quarterbacks are spreading the ball around evenly so far, so it’s tough to decide on where the ball will be going, safest Captain/MVP is at QB.

Who to Fade:

Amari Cooper ($9,000DK/$11,500 FD) The Eagles have been very stingy to throw on this year, only allowing 162 yards per game in the air, and Cooper may see a lot of shut down corner Darius SlayPast matchups where Cooper has faced All-Pro cornerbacks over the years have seen him come up short.

Miles Sanders ($8,000 DK/$10,000 FD) The Cowboys are allowing only 73 yards per game on the ground, Sanders is just too risky at his price tag to start in your lineup.

Studs we Like:

Tony Pollard ($7,600 DK/$9,000 FD) Dallas may need to rely on the run at home, and will look to him again to help out Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield. Pollard has been more utilized as taken on a bigger role this season with the Cowboys, he has already rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, and pulled down seven grabs for 60 yards.

Jalen Reagor ($6,200 DK/$6,500 FD) besides Trevon Diggs there is not much left in the secondary in Dallas. DeVonta Smith may see coverage from him, which would allow Reagor to possibly get open.

Quez Watkins ($5,400 DK/$6,000 FD) could also see a few extra targets in that weak Dallas secondary. Last game Watkins caught a bomb racking up 117 yards and a touchdown.

Value at Flex:

Cedrick Wilson ($4,400 DK/$5,000 FD) With Michael Gallup still on IR, Wilson will still be in the mix on offense, especially as Lamb and Cooper will demand most of Philadelphia’s attention.

Zach Ertz ($2,200 DK/$5,000 FD) We’re getting extreme value on a top 5 tight end of just a few years ago. Phila runs a lot of 12 man personnel (two tight end, one running back formation) which would allow Ertz to pay off his salary if he grabs one in the end zone. Although Dallas Goedert has taken over as lead tight end, Ertz is only 29 and completely healthy, it’s only a matter of time before he starts regaining value again in the league.

General Strategy:

NFC East division games can go either way, they can be shootouts as we saw two weeks ago between the Giants and Football Team or more of the latter defensive grind it out type of game. Quarterbacks tend to shine in the prime time spotlight  games, so playing both quarterbacks would be very safe. Dallas has been playing much better offense as well as Philadelphia so this may very well be another Monday night firework display. Receivers should be in play as well as the hurry up back on each side. I would not be opposed to a kicker too, in high scoring games they do payoff value between the PAT’s on top of a few field goals.

Now go and win with your lineup and let us know how you did.
