Shohei Ohtani
ANAHEIM, CA - APRIL 21: Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (17) celebrates after his home run during a MLB game between the Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on April 21, 2021 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA. (Photo by Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire)

We have six games on the slate today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Matt Olson and the Atlanta Braves taking on Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres.

The weather looks good across the board tonight without a single game having a greater than 20 percent chance of rain.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 4/14/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Shohei Ohtani ($7,900) – Ohtani was a hard-luck loser in his first start, going 4.1 innings and striking out nine batters. You shouldn’t’ expect more than five innings from him, but if you can get the strikeouts along with those innings he can get to value without too much trouble.

Freddie Freeman ($5,000) – After what was a little bit of a slow start for Freeman to his Dodgers career, he has picked things up with back-to-back multi-hit games with a double in each of those games, and this is a good matchup today for the Dodgers to put lots of runs on the board.

Seiya Suzuki ($4,800) – It has been a nice start to Suzuki’s MLB career. He has hits in each of his first five games and three home runs. He will make his first trip to Coors Field today, and this could be another really nice game from him.

The Pitchers

Joe Musgrove ($7,600 DK) It was a solid start from Musgrove to start the season, going six innings and striking out eight batters. It won’t be an easy matchup today against the Braves, but certainly one he is capable of winning, and you’re getting him at a great price too.

Walker Buehler ($9,700 DK) – As one of the most consistent starters last season, Buehler didn’t disappoint in his first start this season, going five innings, striking out five batters, and getting the win. This is also a home start for him today in the cozy confines of Dodger Stadium so look for him to have another solid outing today.

The Value Plays

Connor Joe ($3,400) – Nothing seems to be slowing down Connor Joe quite yet. He has hits in four of his first five games for the Rockies this season, and with Texas’ pitching, he could very well keep that streak going today.

Justin Turner ($3,900) – Turner has struggled a bit to start the season, but he is still hitting in the middle of one of the better lineups in the league with the Dodgers, and facing what is going to largely be a bullpen game from the Reds today.

Ian Happ ($3,600) – Happ has started the season with multi-hit games in three of his first four games, and he now gets to go into the friendliest hitter’s park in the league in Colorado.

The Stacks

Colorado Rockies – While the Rockies don’t have the names we are used to seeing Vegas still has them with the highest implied run total today. I would be looking to take the value-priced Connor Joe, and add C.J. Cron and Charlie Blackmon to make up your Rockies stack today.

Los Angeles Dodgers – We discussed Justin Turner and Freddie Freeman, you can add Max Muncy to them to get you a nice chunk of the middle of the Dodgers order and still have budget left to fill out the rest of your lineup.

Chicago Cubs – We talked about Suzuki and Happ, and you should be able to add Frank Schwindel to them to have a nice stack heading into Coors Field which is always a great place to hit.
