Nolan Arenado hits a double MLB Baseball
MILWAUKEE, WI - SEPTEMBER 22: St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (28) hits a a double during a game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the St Louis Cardinals at American Family Field on September 22, 2021 in Milwaukee, WI. (Photo by Larry Radloff/Icon Sportswire)

We have nine games on the slate today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Freddie Freeman. and the Los Angeles Dodgers taking on Byron Buxton and the Minnesota Twins.

You will want to keep an eye on the weather tonight for the Cardinals and Royals as there is a chance of rain all through this game in St.Louis, and the game between the Blue Jays and the Yankees in New York could also have a delayed start due to rain.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 4/12/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Luis Garcia ($9,400) – Garcia was really solid for the Astros last season striking out better than 26 percent of the batters he faced and providing a sub 3.5 ERA. Tonight he will get to pitch in one of the better pitchers parks in the league in Arizona against a Diamondbacks team that is yet to get their offense going.

Nolan Arenado ($5,100) – Arenado didn’t waste any time getting starting his season off with a bang. In three games he has three doubles and two home runs, and he shouldn’t see too much of a challenge from the Royals pitching staff today.

Connor Joe ($3,100) – The season couldn’t have started much better for Connor Joe. He has two home runs and a stolen base in three games for the Rockies so far, and he should see better pitches to hit in Texas than he did facing the Dodgers over the weekend.

The Pitchers

Yu Darvish ($10,100 DK) Darvish was great in his first start this season, and he will get another good park to pitch in tonight in San Francisco. His high strikeout percentage is always usable, and today’s slate doesn’t have much pitching depth.

Patrick Sandoval ($7,900 DK) – The Marlins were among the worst teams in the league last year against left-handed pitching, and there aren’t any roster changes that we would expect to see them get a whole lot better this season, so you can take a look at Sandoval at a really nice price today.

The Value Players

Bobby Witt Jr. ($2,300) – The season hasn’t started off necessarily the way some might have imagined for Witt, but he continues to hold a high spot in the Royals lineup, and the Cardinals starter today, Dakota Hudson, is one who will pitch to contact so this might be the night that Witt gets things going.

Marcell Ozuna ($3,800) – Ozuna has excelled against left-handed pitching throughout his career, and he will face a soft lefty in Patrick Corbin today, so look for Ozuna to have a solid game.

Rowdy Tellez ($2,700) – Keep an eye on Tellez today. He has hit left-handed pitching well over his career so he could either DH or play first base today, and he will get the added benefit of facing the Orioles in Baltimore today as well which is a nice boon.

The Stacks

Texas Rangers – It was a surprise to see the Rangers having the highest implied run total today. If I am going to build a stack around them I am going to keep it simple and use the top three batters in the lineup Brad Miller, Marcus Semien, and Corey Seager.

Milwaukee Brewers – We talked about the value of Tellez, and you should be able to add the ageless wonder Andrew McCutchen, and Hunter Renfroe to him to make a formidable Brewers stack that won’t break the bank.

Atlanta Braves – Matt Olsen has looked right at home with the Braves so far this season, and I would make him a primary piece of any Braves stack, and I would add Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna to that stack to round it out.
