DFS NHL Fantasy Hockey Picks For September 28, 2020

Kevin Shattenkirk might just get a ring - DFS
TORONTO, ON - MARCH 10: Tampa Bay Lightning Defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk (22) reacts after being injured during the second period of the NHL regular season game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 10, 2020, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON, Canada. The Dallas Stars managed an incredible win in overtime to push the Stanley Cup Finals to game six. The unlikely hero Corey Perry scored two goals in this one with help from Tyler Seguin who had moved to his line. The Tampa Bay Lightning had the go ahead and cup winning goal in hand when Mikhail Sergachev scored but let it slip through their fingers. No lead is safe in the NHL so if Tampa gets ahead do not expect them to take their foot off the gas.

Our free pick for today is Kevin Shattenkirk ($6,400 DK, $8,500 FD). He has been on a bit of a scoring spree lately and is happy to throw shots at the net and block opponents shots from reaching his. He will have dropped off people’s radars after not scoring last game but he still held his own with peripherals. He is a sneaky cheap buy that will bolster your team.

Behind the paywall we are going with some familiar names that are each team’s key to success. You might be surprised at how we managed to pack in as much talent with the budget we have. Come in and take a look at what we have for you.

Captain DFS Pick For September 28, 2020

We would definitely consider putting Nikita Kucherov as the captain but it is just cheaper to make Brayden Point ($14,100 DK, $15,000 FD) your best pick. Point has arguably been the better player and is more likely to score two points than none. Keep him at the top of your lineup.

Flex DFS Picks For September 28, 2020

Stop us if you have heard this before. Victor Hedman’s ($9,000 DK, $12,500 FD) stat line last game is insane. No points, but five shots on goal and four blocked shots. Bonus scoring everywhere and he did not even get on the score sheet. Roll him every night he is healthy.

If you followed our last suggestions then Joe Pavelski ($8,000 DK, $9,500 FD) held up his end of the bargain. It is a pretty simple formula. Win the faceoff, park in front of the net, wait for a rebound, and score. He does it over and over and so there is no reason for us to not make this simple pick.

Our FanDuel lineup is pretty solid today but you have one more pick if you are on DraftKings. We spent big on some of our earlier guys so we have a second sleeper for you that may breakout tonight. Barclay Goodrow ($4,600 DK, $7,500 FD) was an absolute wrecking ball last game. Like Hedman he did not score but still put up plenty of shots and blocks. He has some offensive talent and is in the tier of players that we think cannot be held off the scoresheet much longer.

Avoid DFS Picks For September 28, 2020

Corey Perry. Let’s be clear here. He will get taken by a lot of fantasy players and not come close to the night he had on Saturday. He may have moved up to the second line and played well with Tyler Seguin but Seguin still continues to be somewhat play-adjacent. He is helping his team but it does not always look like it is on purpose. Let the top line do their job in this one.

Have a wonderful day and get your jackets and warms hats out as October is almost here and the chilly weather will be upon us. Make sure to head over to our Fantasy Football page to start looking at our NFL coverage.
