DFS NHL Fantasy Hockey Picks For September 23, 2020

Roope Hintz playing in August

The Tampa Bay Lightning have evened the series despite a last ditch effort by the Stars to push the game to overtime. The game saw big swings in momentum and the last one was not enough from the Stars. We go into the next game tied and both teams are hungry for the lead. Read on to see who we think will be game breakers and fantasy winners.

We have a free pick for you today in Roope Hintz ($5,600 DK, $7,500 FD). He manages multiple shots every game and is primed to score a goal. After he took a puck to the skate two games ago he has turned his game up and is heating up. The Finn cannot be contained much longer.

Behind the paywall we have some more guys who are ready to score more goals. You might be surprised at who we picked as captain to score you all those extra points.

Captain DFS Pick For September 23, 2020

Victor Hedman ($14,100 DK, $12,000 FD) is a big Swedish king of the ice. Dangerous at both ends of the ice opposing defenders are less likely to get in the way of his slapshots. Hedman spends more time on the ice than anyone but the goaltenders and is ready to try and take the lead for Tampa.

Flex DFS Picks For September 23, 2020

We may have sat Brayden Point ($9,000 DK, $13,500 FD) last game but he showed that he is still capable of scoring points. He did not pad his peripherals this time but we expect he will get more than one shot on goal tonight. Keep him in your lineup but still be wary of his injury status.

The Stars paid a lot to pick up Joe Pavelski ($7,800 DK, $8,500 FD) from the San Jose Sharks and it has paid off in every way. He has done everything Dallas has asked of him and he is always in the middle of the pack driving the play and making his way towards the net. He is a great price for the highlights he brings.

While most people talk about Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point you have  Ondrej Palat ($8,400 DK, $9,500 FD) going out night after night getting it done for the Bolts. He plays a physical game laying down several hits while also making sure that Anton Khudobin has his hands full with as many shots as he can muster. The whole line is dangerous and Palat is a sneaky peek for success.

You will probably have some extra budget to spend right now and our last guy is cheap but don’t discount Jason Dickinson ($2,000 DK, $6,500 FD) too hard. The first round draft pick hangs back as the third line center soaking in all the experience from the veterans in front of him. He hasn’t made a huge splash yet but the empty net goal looked like the monkey came off his back.

Avoid DFS Picks For September 23, 2020

He hasn’t yet officially been cleared to play but you will still want to make sure you wait on Steven Stamkos. He has not played in months and while he is elite when he is not injured we do not know what shape he is in. Steer clear until he has played at least one game.

Stay tuned and don’t forget that games four and five will be back to back so you will be seeing quite a bit more from us this week. We are excited to keep bringing this to you and helping you win those DFS pools.
