DFS NHL Fantasy Hockey Picks For 9/2/20

The Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks managed to keep their hopes alive while the New York Islanders and Vegas Golden Knights have to go back to the drawing board to figure out how to finish the series before the other teams force a game 7. There is only one game tonight which means we will be using the Captain and flex format. You will choose a Captain who scores you 1.5x points and then take five or six flex players depending on the platform you are on. Check out our article from a couple weeks ago for more details.

Funds will be limited here as player prices can go past their usual max. We have a low cost option for you today that has been quietly impressing. Valeri Nichushkin ($3,400 DK, $6,500 FD) is playing alongside Nazem Kadri and has three points in his last two games here. The irony is that he used to play for the Stars and that may lend itself to him putting in the extra effort after being bought out last off season. He certainly looks like he wants it and so we will grab him and watch the fireworks.

Captain DFS Pick For 9/2/20

Nathan MacKinnon ($17,100 DK, $16,000 FD) continues to score at a torrid pace. In the last game where the Avalanche buried the Stars he scored a goal and an assist while putting six shots on goal. There is no reason to get off this train.

Flex DFS Picks For 9/2/20

The actual captain of the Dallas Stars has scored in his last six straight. Jamie Benn ($8,200 DK, $14,000 FD) keeps finding ways to score. The scoresheet won’t show it but Tyler Seguin did an amazing job keeping the puck in the zone on the shift that led to Benn’s last goal. They are creative and will look to use that to end the Avalanche’s season and prevent another game from happening.

This next pair should come as no surprise if you have been following us for a while. Joe Pavelski ($7,000 DK, $8,500 FD) and Denis Gurianov ($6,400 DK, $9,000 FD) have really gelled and are a scary second line to deal with after Benn and Seguin leave the ice. Gurianov actually has gotten a few more points than Pavelski recently so if you need to save a couple bucks we would lean his way for now. Keep an eye on Gurianov’s ice time as it continues to build.

If you are on DraftKings and need an extra guy we are still putting our money on Dallas and really like where Roope Hintz’s ($5,800 DK, $7,000 FD) game is going. He occasionally centers the top line as that is where his career will likely take him. For this series right now he is on the third line and still making things happen. He has four points in his last three games and like Gurianov is seeing his ice time rise. The more time he gets the more points you get.

Avoid DFS Picks For 9/2/20

We are not going anywhere near the goalies in this matchup as it is going to be fast and furious with the shots. Both teams have been scoring a lot and no goalie is safe. Invest in the guys who are likely to score because the net minders may end up with negative points today.

We are so close to the Conference Finals but still have a couple games to go. Get ready for some edge of your seat action tonight in what promises to be a barn burner.
