The Stars keep finding ways to win even though they are completely outgunned. Rick Bowness should be in the conversation for coach of the year with the way he has been able to bring his boys this deep into the playoffs. We will have to wait and see if they can handle the continued pressure but they have been impressive and actually have a chance at taking down the Golden Knights. For today’s matchup we will discuss how likely it is that the Islanders can even up their series and keep their heads afloat.

The biggest storyline of the day is going to be about Brayden Point not being in the game. Keep your eye on this one because if he doesn’t play then you should definitely be targeting Anthony Cirelli ($5,400 DK, $8,000 FD) for your team. He is a complete player who can play well defensively and also get the offense running. He may not have scored recently but his playing time has gone up and he did manage four shots on goal on Friday. He is getting closer to making the impact we know he is capable of and we feel like tonight is the night.

Behind the paywall we have another couple of guys who have been steadily making their way up the depth charts. We found two quiet players who are worth more than their cost and may be the deciding factor in your matches tonight. Sign up to find out who our aces up the sleeve are.

Captain DFS Pick For 9/13/20

On a normal day we would have Point here ready to maximize all of our point production but we are still just as happy to play Nikita Kucherov ($16,200 DK, $15,500 FD)  as our captain. He has 17 points in his last ten games and has been an absolute beast on the ice. Critics who would say he is not clutch in the playoffs have finally been silenced. Kucherov is the guy to own tonight.

This guy could also easily be your captain if you so chose. Anders Lee ($8,400 DK, $12,500 FD)has been an absolute wrecking ball during the playoffs and brings an edge to the Islanders top line that is hard to match. Just like Jamie Benn he has a nose for gritty goals and just gets physical in front of the net. This is a big game for them and he will step up.

Continuing down the left wing we come back across Anthony Beauvillier ($7,800 DK, $10,500 FD). He played a big role in the Islanders win in this series with a goal and an assist. He and linemate Brock Nelson are learning how to elevate their game together on the biggest stage. Nelson is a no nonsense player and that is going to help Beauvillier mature that much faster. Let’s see if they click tonight.

On to our sneaky picks of the night we have a couple of defencemen who have earned top pairing minutes. The first one is Adam Pelech ($5,800 DK, $7,000 FD) of the New York Islanders. He is a physical player who does a great job controlling the puck and the pace of the game. The one knock is that he has not stolen power play time from Devon Toews yet but we think it is going to happen soon. His impact can’t be ignored and we think he is poised to succeed.

Our second guy gets paired up at the top of the Tampa Bay blue line. He has actually secured second power play time which is quite an honor on a deep Lightning squad. Kevin Shattenkirk ($6,200 DK, $8,000 FD) is seeing his shots go up and has always been willing to lay the body down to save goals. He is a well rounded player that is coming in cheap for the time on ice he is seeing. Grab him and see how he can boost your team.

Avoid DFS Picks For 9/13/20

The third and fourth lines for the Islanders are looking a little thin right now and so we are holding off on Jean-Gabriel Pageau. He is a great player but his linemates are more of fourth line grinders and we are not sure he has the weapons to make the most of his talent. He may still surprise us but use that money elsewhere to secure your victories.

Take care and have a blast out there. The new week is upon us and by this time next week we will be looking at who will be fighting in the finals for Lord Stanley’s cup.
