DFS NHL Fantasy Hockey Picks For 8/13/20

Games continue to hit overtime and the NHL playoff action just doesn’t stop. After having their game postponed due to the quintuple overtime game the night before the Bruins and Hurricanes themselves went not just to one overtime but to a second one on top of that. We are not complaining though because it means more hockey and more time to score fantasy points.

Today’s free sleeper pick is a third line winger on the Calgary Flames. If you are looking for low risk but high reward check out Dillon Dube ($2,600 Draft Kings). He has four points in five games this post-season and his line just knows how to get it done. Dube is centered by the up and coming Sam Bennett and protected by known bruiser Milan Lucic. They give the Flames a depth that may help send them to the next round.

Goaltending DFS Picks For 8/13/20

You know we like investing in goalies and Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8,100) is worth it. He is going to be filling his trophy case year over year and he does it with style. We expect the Lightning to settle in a little better today and find holes in Joonas Korpisalo’s game. Vasi should get the goal support he deserves and put Tampa Bay one step closer to the second round.

Let us try and save you a few hundred bucks and see what happens if you put Cam Talbot ($7,900) in net. The theme of the day is depth and Talbot is going to be the one who stands to benefit the most from it. The Flames appear to be in the driver’s seat in this series. If their top lines start producing more they might be unstoppable.

Center DFS Picks For 8/13/20

Here at Fantasy DFS experts we are suckers for game winners. Brayden Point ($6,100) ended the epic game against the Blue Jackets and silenced any notion of a repeat of last year’s playoff exit. He is cruising along at over a point per game right now and is leading the Lightning charge to make it to the next round. Don’t take your eyes off of him because he is a game changer.

Depth wins championships. The Chicago Blackhawks have their first round pick from 2019 centering their third line and he is thriving. Kirby Dach ($3,500) is having an immediate impact on the NHL and is going to be good for a long time. Like Dube he has four points in five games and this playoff experience is only going to make him better. We would take two Dachs over one Mark Stone right now. Take that $3,500 savings and invest in a couple of our other high end picks.

Winger DFS Picks For 8/13/20

With all the savings you have from picking Dube and Dach you can surely afford David Pastrnak ($8,000). He had a goal and an assist against the Hurricanes yesterday and made it look easy. His final sprint down the center of the ice pulled two defenders and made all the space for Patrice Bergeron to score the game winning goal.

Defencemen DFS Picks For 8/13/20

At the top of our defense board we have Shea Theodore ($6,600). If you looked at his regular season stats you might not get what all the hype is about. A mid-season coaching change is exactly what the young sniper needed. He was finally put in a position to succeed and succeed he did. He is a power play specialist and can’t help but score you points.

Seth Jones ($5,500) played for an absolutely insane 63 minutes in the overtime bonanza of his last game. We were watching the interviews afterwards and he still had a smile on his face and looked no worse for the wear. That should scare the Lightning as we know he will be ready for today’s game. The Blue Jackets would not be the same team without him and they will look to him to try and get the series even again.

Avoid DFS Picks For 8/13/20

We all know Andrei Svechnikov is going to be filthy good for the next decade. Watching the last game against the Bruins though it is clear they have planned for him and his now famous lacrosse style goal. They watched the tape and figured out how to shut him down. That may open up other opportunities for his teammates but hold off on grabbing him for now.

Do you think we will see more overtime hockey today? We kind of hope so and are ready for all the craziness. Have fun out there.

So, what did you think?
