DFS NFL Wide Receiver Picks for Week 9 – 2021

Stefan Diggs
FOXBOROUGH, MA - DECEMBER 28: Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs (14) breaks away from New England Patriots defensive back Terrence Brooks (25) during a game between the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills on December 28, 2020, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The big names are back with their expensive price tags. Are they worth it this week? Let’s check out this week’s high-end picks, best values, and some buyer beware picks at wide receiver.

Stefon Diggs – ($7,700 DK, $7,600 FD) – I hate highlighting the same receiver in back-to-back weeks, but it’s so hard not to spend the money on Diggs again this week. The Bills take on the Jaguars on the road. The Jags are one of the worst defenses in giving up fantasy points to receivers as they rank 26th. Diggs on the road versus a bad defense averages 26.60 fantasy points per game and is 100 percent consistent. I would definitely pay up for him.

Tyreek Hill – BEWARE –  ($7,900 DK, $8,500 FD) – Hill is the most expensive receiver once again this week. But he’s not worth paying up for. The Chiefs play the Packers and they are ranked eighth in giving up the fewest fantasy points to receivers. Hill at home versus a good defense is only averaging 12.75 fantasy points per game and is only 50 percent consistent. I’ll pass on that value.

• You will see my best values that could be GPP gold.

• You will see two players who we love but we are shading this week. We will explain exactly why and hope they still love us next week.

Best Value – WR – Rashod Bateman – ($4,000 DK, $5,400 FD) – I found a really cheap one for the bargain this week. Bateman is only $4k and has the potential to have a big game versus the Vikings at home. The Vikings are ranked 27th in giving up fantasy points to receivers and Bateman is starting to become an excellent #2 receiver for the Ravens. There’s great value here.

Best Mid-Value – WR – Brandin Cooks – ($6,100 DK, $6,800 FD) – I know that I’ve went to Cooks quite a bit this season, but his value and his performance have been to good to pass up. Cooks gets the Miami Dolphins this week on the road. The Dolphins are 31st in giving up fantasy points to receivers. Cooks has averaged 17.90 fantasy points per game and has been 100 percent consistent. He’ll match up well for value this week.

Davante Adams – BEWARE –  ($8,200 DK, $9,000 FD) – While we expect Adams back this week from COVID, the problem is that now Aaron Rodgers is out with it. At Adams’s price in both sites, you do not want to invest in Jordan Love’s debut and rely on Adams getting big points. I would certainly pass.
