The tight end position is already separating the men from the boys and this is very prevalent in DFS. So, let’s get started with the tight ends. We have some high-end picks, best values, and some buyer beware picks.
Travis Kelce – ($8,200 DK, $8,500 FD) – To no one’s surprise, Kelce is back as the most expensive tight end on both sites. He has a nice matchup this week versus the Chargers. Both have high-powered offenses and this should be a high-scoring game with the Vegas setting the over/under at 56.5 points. Kelce has averaged 22.28 fantasy points per game and is 100 percent consistent when playing at home versus an average defense. Kelce is pretty pricey compared to most of the tight ends, but he certainly can be worth it.
Darren Waller – BEWARE – ($7,400 DK, $7,400 FD) – Waller is the same price on both sites and normally has been worth it just based on the volume of targets that he gets per game. However, as the second most expensive tight end on both sites, I’m not so sure that he’s worth it this week. While Miami is an average defense in giving up fantasy points to tight ends, Waller playing at home versus an average defense is only averaging 11.85 fantasy points per game and is 50 percent consistent. In summary, I’m not paying up for him this week.

Best Value – TE – Jared Cook – ($3,900 DK, $5,300 FD) – Cook isn’t dirt cheap this week, but he’s certainly the best value as he will be playing the Chiefs this week in a shoot-out that I discussed earlier in Kelce’s section. Cook’s history shows that when playing away versus a bad defense, he averages 12.93 fantasy points per game and is 100 percent consistent. He is certainly worth putting in your lineup this week.
Best Mid-Value – TE – T.J. Hockenson – ($5,200 DK, $6,300 FD) – Hockenson has been killing it through the first two games as he’s third in total points (only five points behind Kelce) and 100 percent consistent. This week the Lions play Baltimore at home. The Ravens are DEAD LAST in giving up fantasy points to tight ends. While Hockenson averages 22 fantasy points per game against bad defense and is 100 percent consistent in those games. He’s a definite starter this week in all scenarios!
Overall, this week we are seeing some potentially huge values but a few people to stay away from that we normally give a full endorsement.
