We are passing the halfway point for the fantasy season and finding a healthy quarterback is just as important as finding one who’s going to score a ton of fantasy points this week. So, let’s take a look at this week’s best picks at quarterback to help you win some cash for Week 9 and who to stay away from.
Josh Allen – ($8,200 DK, $9,000 FD) – Josh Allen takes the top spot as the most expensive quarterback this week on both slates. Allen has a great matchup this week as the Bills travel to Jacksonville. The Jaguars rank 27th in giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks. Allen has done very well historically against bad defenses on the road by averaging 34.80 fantasy points per game and has been 100 percent consistent. It’s worth paying up this week for Allen.
Patrick Mahomes – BEWARE – ($7,800 DK, $8,500 FD) – It’s tough to put Mahomes in this spot, but right now, he’s still the second most expensive quarterback on the slates and his performance recently makes him very overvalued. This week, the Chiefs take on the Packers. The Packers rank 15th in giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks. However, let’s take a look at how the Packers held Kyler Murray to only 13.80 fantasy points last week. For now, I’m not paying up for Mahomes and neither should you.
Don’t miss out on the price cut! It’s now only $99 for the rest of the season!

Best Value QB – Taysom Hill – ($5,500 DK, $7,000 FD) – As I’ve said every week recently, it’s getting harder and harder every week to find real bargains, especially at the quarterback position. However, with the Jameis Winston injury, Taysom Hill becomes the full-time starter once again for the Saints. Normally, I wouldn’t jump on a guy like Hill but when I saw how he did last year versus the Falcons in their two games in 2020, I had to put him here. This week, Hill gets the Falcons at home. Last year, he scored 27.75 and 26.90 fantasy points against the Falcons. So, how do you not play him at this price?
Best Mid-Value QB – Joe Burrow – ($6,800 DK, $7,600 FD) – I normally don’t list a quarterback here for two weeks in a row, but when you put up big points and your price drops then you go back to the well. Plus, Burrow gets to play the Browns this coming week at home. The Browns are a mess right now and should be a push over in this game, but if it makes you feel any better, Burrow in 2020 scored 28.70 and 39.70 in the two games against the Browns. He’s by far my favorite pick this week!
BEWARE – QB – Justin Herbert – ($7,000 DK, $7,600 FD) – Herbert is the sixth most expensive quarterback this week and he’s only 43% consistent so far this year even though he’s 10th in total points. This week, the Chargers play on the road at Philadelphia. They are ranked fifth in giving up the fewest points to quarterbacks. Herbert doesn’t do well at all on the road versus a good defense. In fact, he averages only 18.52 fantasy points and has a zero percent consistency rating. I’ll pass on him this week.
Overall, this week we are seeing some potentially huge values but a few people to stay away from that we normally give a full endorsement.
