DFS NFL Quarterback Picks for Week 3 – 2021

Russell Wilson DFS Fantasy Pick
ATLANTA, GA - SEPTEMBER 13: Russell Wilson (3) of the Seattle Seahawks barks out the signals during the NFL Week 1 game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Seattle Seahawks on September 13, 2020 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by David J. Griffin/Icon Sportswire)

Kyler Murray kicked ass again last week in DFS? Did you play him? Let’s find out who are the best picks at quarterback to win you some cash for Week 3 and who to stay away from.

Russell Wilson – ($7,600 DK, $8,400 FD) – Wilson isn’t the most expensive quarterback in Week 3, but he’s close. Kyler Murray and Patrick Mahomes are a little higher and are also worth paying up for. However, I wanted to highlight Wilson as the best high-end value since he can save you a few hundred bucks in salary. Wilson gets to take on the Vikings’ terrible pass defense this week. The Vikings are 29th in giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks. Tie that in with Wilson averaging 30.03 fantasy points per game and 100 percent consistency playing against a bad defense and you get DFS gold! He’s worth being in your lineups this week.

Tom Brady – BEWARE – ($6,800 DK, $7,800 FD) – I’m a huge fan of Brady and have him on many of my season-long leagues. However, if there’s one scenario where Brady struggles a bit it’s playing away versus a top 10 defense. This is even more true when he’s playing against a strong pass rush and this week he travels to the Rams. His past performance in these matchups has usually been less than consistent, as he’s been below 50 percent consistent in both Tampa and New England when playing on the road versus a top defense. I would stay clear of Brady this week.

Best Value QB – Jared Goff – ($5,200 DK, $7,100 FD) – Jared Goff has looked pretty good in his first two matchups so far in 2021. He’s perfectly consistent and is ranked 10th in total fantasy points so far. I put him here as a Best Value since he plays the Ravens at home this week and the Ravens are currently ranked 28th in giving points up to quarterbacks. Goff has historically done well at home versus bad defenses by averaging 25.89 fantasy points per game and has a 75 percent consistency rating. He’s certainly worth using in your lineup and using the savings elsewhere.

Best Mid-Value QB – Daniel Jones – ($5,800 DK, $7,400 FD) – Almost as surprising as Jared Goff having a solid start to the season, it is Daniel Jones as well. Jones is ranked sixth in total points so far in 2021. This week, he gets to play the Falcons at home. Lucky him! Atlanta is DEAD LAST in giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks and Jones looks like an excellent value if want to save some money at this position for this week.

BEWARE – QB – Lamar Jackson – ($7,800 DK, $8,400 FD) – Lamar has been great so far in 2021 and I don’t want to downplay his talent. However, he has been much closer to average when the Ravens play on the road versus a bad defense. He’s only averaging 22.62 fantasy points per game and a 57 percent consistent rating in those game scenarios. I’m not saying he will be terrible this week. I’m just saying he’s not worth paying up for this week.

Overall, this week we are seeing some potentially huge values but a few people to stay away from that we normally give a full endorsement.
