Week 1 was its usual crazy week, as it always is! Who can we trust to repeat great performances and who can we expect to fail? Let’s find out as we look at the quarterbacks for Week 2.
Kyler Murray ($8,200 DK, $8,700 FD) takes over the top spot this week as Patrick Mahomes is playing on Sunday night. Murray certainly earned it after last week and looks primed to possibly be the #1 quarterback again this week as the Vikings come to town. The Vikings are average defensively in giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks. However, over the past couple of years, Murray is averaging 38.10 fantasy points per game at home versus an average defense. He’s certainly worth paying up for.
Josh Allen – BEWARE – ($7,200 DK, $8,100 FD) – Allen barely earned a Clutch Game against a good Steelers defense and now plays on the road against a solid defense in Miami. Based on his salary in both leagues, he’s the third and fourth highest ranked quarterback. I don’t believe that Allen can put up numbers that high on the road as his past average is only 23.13 fantasy points per game. That won’t make him the fourth highest quarterback for sure. I would stay clear this week.

Best Value QB – Teddy Bridgewater – ($5,400 DK, $7,000 FD) – I realize that I won’t have Teddy up here too often, but this week, it’s hard to pass him up at this price. $5,400 on DK is quite a deal on a quarterback going against the terrible Jaguars defense. Last week, the Jags gave up over 23 fantasy points to Tyrod Taylor! I have to believe that Teddy with much better weapons around him and can easily break 25 points and give you extra money to spend up at running back and wide receiver.
Best Mid-Value QB – Justin Herbert ($6,700 DK, $7,600 FD) – Last week, we had Herbert in the BEWARE section and we were right as he earned under 20 fantasy points at his high salary. This week he has a much better matchup as he’s at home versus a bad Dallas defense. Herbert has always done well in this game scenario by averaging 27.47 fantasy points per game. I would expect at least this amount, if not over 30 points in what should be a shoot-out between the Cowboys and Chargers.
BEWARE – QB – Matthew Stafford ($6,400 DK, $7,500 FD) – The fantasy world is a buzz over Stafford’s performance in Sunday night’s game. Maybe they didn’t watch the game? Stafford scored two deep touchdowns on broken plays. If the Bears defense would have played like they did for most of the game, Stafford wouldn’t have been as productive. This week, Stafford travels to Indy. Stafford’s past has shown that he’s only 50 percent consistent when he’s on the road. Don’t overpay for him this week.
Overall, this week we are seeing some potentially huge values but a few people to stay away from that we normally give a full endorsement.
