You only start one quarterback so you better make it count. Quality and upside are important here while securing a solid floor. I know that sounds like a lot so let’s try and keep it simple. Look for a good matchup, a quarterback who has been performing well with a strong supporting cast, a defence that will be favorable to opposing signal-callers, and a game script that supports success. For the most part, the quarterbacks at the top of the salary list speak for themselves as elite options, but here we dig deeper.

For those who have yet to subscribe, what are you waiting for? Until then you will get one free pick to whet your appetite. DeShaun Watson ($7,600 DK, $8,500 FD) gets a great matchup this week as the Texans take on the Bengals. Watson is coming off torching a good Colts defence for 370 yards through the air and 25 more on the ground. This week he will face a Bengals team that has given up the 10th most passing yards in the league this season, although they are coming off a week where they limited the Steelers to just 170 yards passing. I don’t expect that to be the new normal for this Bengals team, however, and Watson should have a nice day.

Patrick Mahomes ($8,500 DK, $9,400 FD). There are many weeks were it is easy to pass on Mahomes, this isn’t going to be one of them With Mahomes facing the Falcons this week, it has 400 yards passing written all over it. The Falcons give up the second-most passing yards in the league, but their offence scores enough to keep them in the game, forcing Mahomes to continue to pass. His ownership will likely be very high in cash games, so play the chalk with him this week.

Jared Goff  ($5,900 DK, $7,400 FD) comes in this week as a bit of a  bounce-back candidate. Many people were expecting Goff to have a big game last week, but I think this will be the week for him. Goff will be facing the worst passing defence in the league in the Seahawks, so I look for the Rams to try and expose that. When these two teams met last, Goff threw for over 300 yards and ran for another 20. Expect a similar game from Goff this time around.

Baker Mayfield ($6,100 DK, $7,600 FD) is another player who will likely be targeted by the masses, and fairly so given the Browns are going to be facing the woeful Jets. Baker has thrown for over 330 yards in two of the last 3 weeks. I don’t think we should expect the Jets to pull a rabbit out of a hat two weeks in a row. Don’t be scared away from Baker just because the Jets were able to slow down the Rams passing offence.

Jalen Hurts ($7,000 DK, $8,200 FD) is coming off his biggest game yet, throwing for 338 yards and rushing for another 63 yards. The Eagles should be up for this game heading into Dallas with a playoff spot on the line. The Eagles ability to win will largely sit with Hurts’ ability to be effective, and through three games Hurts has been DFS gold.

This week Mitchell Trubisky ($5,700 DK, $7,200 FD) is your guy if you’re not looking to pay up at quarterback. While he isn’t likely to throw for 400 yards, he does have an opportunity to have a big day going against the Jaguars as the Bears try to stay in the playoff hunt. At this price if you can get 275 yards and a few touchdowns you likely won’t complain.
