Welcome back. Today’s slate has eleven games. The teams with the highest implied runs scored totals tonight are the Braves, Padres, and the Cubs, so keep them in mind when picking players. We will keep you abreast of the juiciest matchups and make sure you know who to keep your eye on.
Today’s free pick comes from Cleveland. Franmil Reyes ($3,900 on DK, $3,000 on FD). Franmil has a 0.500 in his last 20 plate appearances, with a 1.111 SLG in that same time period. He has five doubles and two home runs over his last five games. This is a great price for him.
Pitching DFS Picks for September 2nd, 2020
We are going to look to the Dodgers again for pitching. Walker Buehler ($10,200 on DK, $10,300 on FD) will face a Diamondbacks team that has scored just 6 runs in the last five days. Buehler is coming off a eleven strikeout performance against Colorado, where he gave up just one run. He should be able to handle the Diamondbacks with relative ease tonight.
Our second pitching choice today is Triston McKenzie ($6,700 on DK, $8,000 on FD) of Cleveland. In his first 10 innings, he has struck out 13 batters. He is facing a Royals team tonight who has struck out 28 percent of the time over the last five days. He is coming at a significant discount tonight, but the upside is definitely there for both a big strikeout night, but also the win.
Infield DFS Picks for September 2nd, 2020
Jake Cronenworth ($3,800 on DK, $3,200 on FD) has hits in each of his last three games, including a double, a triple, and a home run. At his price, he is a nice piece to get for the high scoring Padres tonight.
Our other infield play today is Xander Bogaerts ($5,100 on DK, $3,700 on FD). Bogaerts has a 0.375 batting average to go along with a 0.725 SLG against left-handed pitchers on the year. Tonight, he will face Robbie Erlin of the Braves who has given up 10 runs in his last 17 innings pitched.
Outfield DFS Picks for September 2nd, 2020
Ian Happ ($4,000 on DK, $3,100 on FD) in his last three games has seven hits and four home runs. The Cubs are facing Joe Musgrove and the Pirates tonight. Musgove enters the game with a 6.75 ERA, which is a big reason why the Cubs are expected to score so many runs tonight.
Victor Reyes ($3,100 on DK, $2,300 on FD) is going to be a nice GPP buy tonight. I wouldn’t expect a lot of ownership for the Tigers outfielder, but he has nine hits in his last four games, including three extra base hits, and is always a threat for a steal. Reyes should be leading off tonight, so expect him to get lots of opportunities tonight against the Brewers.
