We have thirteen games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Brandon Woodruff and the Milwaukee Brewers, taking on Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals in St.Louis. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Boston Red Sox (6.1), Minnesota Twins (5.2), and the Los Angeles Dodgers (5.2).
The weather looks good across the board today otherwise, with less than a 20 percent chance of rain for the games today.
Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 9/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Pitcher | Alex Wood | $7,900

First Base | Paul Goldschmidt | $4,800
Second Base | Javier Baez | $4,100
Third Base | ||||

Outfield | Nick Castellanos | $5,400

Outfield | Mitch Haniger | $5,000 |
Alex Wood– P ($7,900) – Wood has given up two runs or less in each of his last five starts for the Giants. He strikes out nearly 26 percent of the batters he faces, and he will be facing a Diamondbacks team that shouldn’t create too much trouble for him, especially at home.
Paul Goldschmidt– 1B ($4,800) – Goldschmidt continued his great play this month last night with a two-hit game that included a double. He has multi-hit games in three of his last five games with two doubles and a home run in that time.
Javier Baez– 2B ($4,100) – Make it hits in seventeen of eighteen games for Baez. He has two multi-hit games in his last three games, with a double, and with him facing the Marlins at home it wouldn’t be a surprise to see his hit streak continue.
Nick Castellanos – OF ($5,400) – Coming into today, Castellanos has hit a home run in four of his last five games and he has two multi-hit games in his last five. When Castellanos has played this year he has been producing, and today should be no different.
Mitch Haniger – OF ($5,000) Haniger has three home runs in his last two games, and he has hits in six straight games overall. Like Castellanos when Haniger has been healthy he has been a threat all season.

The Pitchers
Logan Gilbert ($7,600) Gilbert had a rough start his last time out, but he has otherwise been very good in the month of September for the Mariners. At his price you just need five good innings from him, just be aware with less than a week left and the Mariners right in the wild card race he could have a short leash.
Aaron Nola ($9,500) – In his last three starts, Nola has accumulated 27 strikeouts. The end result hasn’t always been great but in a GPP, Nola has the upside to give you a 30-40 point performance.
Max Scherzer ($10,400) – Scherzer’s price is high, but in his two starts against the Padres since joining the Dodgers, he has yet to give up a run and he has struck out no less than nine batters in the two starts either.
The Value Players
Harrison Bader – OF ($3,200) – For the first time in three nights last night Bader didn’t hit a home run, but he was still worth his value. With how well he has been playing I would go back to him until he doesn’t get a hit.
Kelvin Gutierrez- 3B ($2,200) – Gutierrez is coming at near the minimum price. He has hits in six straight games for the Orioles, with a home run and a double in that stretch. You won’t need much from him to be of value today, so he is someone you can look to if you’re looking to pay up for some of tonight’s bigger pitchers.
Tyler Stephenson- C/1B ($3,700) – Stephenson has hit left-handed pitching well all year (0.288 batting average), and he has hit them especially well at home(0.314 batting average). So I look for Stephenson to have a productive day for the Reds hitting in the middle of their lineup.
The Stacks
Boston Red Sox – The Red Sox didn’t deliver as expected yesterday, but they have the highest implied run number again today so I would look at Rafael Devers and Hunter Renfroe again today, and add in Christian Vásquez with them today.
Los Angeles Dodgers – Trea Turner did what we hoped he would yesterday, and I’m going back to the Dodgers again today. I would again add Corey Seager, and also add in Gavin Lux to help balance the salaries.
San Francisco Giants – The Giants are near the top today with an implied run total today over 5. I look to Brandon Crawford, Kris Bryant and Tommy La Stella as a stack we can use that should pay off today.
