Mookie Betts
LOS ANGELES, CA - AUGUST 04: Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Mookie Betts (50) celebrates with Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner (10) after his solo lead off home run during the MLB game between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 4, 2021 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. We have fifteen games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers, taking on Ketel Marte and the Arizona Diamondbacks in Arizona. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the San Francisco Giants (7.1), Los Angeles Dodgers (6.1), and the Tampa Bay Rays (5.4).

The weather looks good across the board today otherwise, with less than a 20 percent chance of rain for all of the games today.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 9/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherLogan Gilbert $6,400
 Pitcher
 Catcher
 First Base
 Second BaseOzzie Albies $5,300
 Third BaseAustin Riley $4,800
 Short Stop
 OutfieldJuan Soto $6,300
 OutfieldMookie Betts $5,800
 Outfield

Logan Gilbert – P ($6,400) – Gilbert has been very solid for the Mariners. He hasn’t given up more than two runs in any of his last four games, with as many as nine strikeouts. He is priced very reasonably going up against a poor offence in the Angels.

Ozzie Albies– 2B ($5,300) – Albies has really picked things up in his last four games. He has two doubles and two home runs in those four games, and with the Braves likely seeing a bullpen game from the Padres there should be lots of opportunities for him to have another nice game.

Austin Riley– 3B  ($4,800) – Riley has settled into the four spots in the Braves lineup. He has hits in twelve of his last thirteen games, and he has hit three home runs and he has four doubles in his last five games.

Juan Soto – OF  ($6,300) – In the last three games Soto has had eight games with two doubles and three home runs. Soto is one of the best hitters in the league and with him hitting in one of the best hitters parks in the league tonight, he is a player who is worth looking at.

Mookie Betts – OF ($5,800) Betts has hits now in fourteen straight games. He will be facing a Diamondbacks team that doesn’t have great pitching so we could see a big game from Betts tonight.

The Pitchers

Carlos Hernández ($5,500 DK) In DFS contests there is a lot to like about Hernández. He is coming off a bad start, but in his four previous starts he gave up two runs or less. The strikeouts aren’t always there, but at his price, you won’t need a lot for him to face value.

José Berríos ($9,500 DK) – Berríos will be going up against a Twins team that he struck out six times, and gave up just four hits in a win his last time out. Look for Berríos to have a nice outing today going up against his former team.

Dylan Cease ($9,000 DK) – After getting roughed up by the Red Sox, Cease bounced back in a big way by giving up just four hits and striking out ten batters against the Rangers. He will face Cleveland today who is among the bottom ten in the league over the last two weeks in slugging percentage, with an on-base percentage under 30 percent.

The Value Players

Tyler Stephenson – C  ($3,300) – Stephenson this season has excelled at home. He has hit 0.308 for the Reds, with nearly half of his home runs coming at home. It is a good matchup for the Reds today facing the Nationals.

C.J. Cron- 1B ($3,400) – It is surprising to see this price for Cron. He has hit left-handed pitching well with a 0.315 batting average and 8 home runs in 127 at-bats against them. With this game being in Colorado he is going to be hard to pass up at this price.

Nick Gordon- OF ($2,200) – We are going back to Gordon again today after he provided big-time value yesterday (three hits, a home run, and four runs batted in). He is now up to a five-game hitting streak, and last night was his second three-game hitting streak in his last three games.

The Stacks

Los Angeles Dodgers – The Dodgers are a deep team, and this is a good matchup. I would be looking to go to Trea Turner, Gavin Lux, and the previously mentioned Mookie Betts today.

San Francisco Giants – With the Giants expected to score a lot of runs tonight, I would be going to Buster Posey, Tommy LaStella, and LaMonte Wade Jr as a stack tonight to capitalize on those projected run totals.

Cincinnati Reds – When the Reds are at home and not facing top pitching they are worth a look. We discussed Stephenson, and I would be looking to add Eugenio Suarez and Kyle Farmer as a nice value stack.
