DFS MLB Baseball Picks for September 10, 2021

Bo Bichette hits a baseball
BALTIMORE, MD - JULY 07 Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (11) hits a 2 run home run in the sixth inning during the Toronto Blue Jays game versus the Baltimore Orioles on July 7, 2021 at Orioles Park at Camden Yards, in Baltimore, MD. (Photo by Mark Goldman/Icon Sportswire)

We have thirteen games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by J.D. Martinez and the Boston Red Sox, taking on Jose Abreu and the Chicago White Sox in Chicago. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Toronto Blue Jays (6.1), San Francisco Giants (5.2), and the Tampa Bay Rays (5.0).

The weather looks good across the board today, with less than a 10 percent chance of rain for all games today.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 9/10/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherMadison Bumgarner $8,500
 Pitcher
 Catcher
 First Base
 Second BaseJonathan India $4,100
 Third BaseEduardo Escobar $4,000
 Short StopBo Bichette $5,400
 OutfieldBryce Harper $5,800
 Outfield
 Outfield

Madison Bumgarner ($8,500) – Bumgarner has had a few rough starts in a row, but he will be facing a Mariners team that is striking out nearly 25 percent of the time over the last two weeks, and is getting on base just 30 percent of the time.

Jonathan India – 2B  ($4,100) – India finished up his series in Chicago with two multi-hit games that includes two doubles and a home run. The Reds will face who has an ERA near 5, so don’t be surprised if the Reds put up lots of runs today.

Eduardo Escobar – 3B  ($4,000) – Coming into tonight Escobar has hits in five of his last six games with two doubles and a home run in his last four games. He will face a pitcher tonight in Cleveland who has an ERA near 5.5 so look for a nice night from Escobar.

Bo Bichette – SS ($5,400) – Bichette moved back into the leadoff spots yesterday, and had a big four hit games which included a home run and a steal. With the Blue Jays heading into Baltimore today, I would look for Bichette to keep his bat hot.

Bryce Harper – OF ($5,800) Harper now has hits in six straight games, and he has hit a home run in four of his last five games. We liked him yesterday when he was $500 more expensive, and we certainly like him again today.

The Pitchers

Ian Anderson ($6,600 DK) In two of his last three starts Anderson has struggled, but tonight he will face the Marlins at home. The Marlins over the last two weeks however have a team batting average of only 0.235, and they have struck out 26 percent of the time both marks are the second-worst in baseball, so look for Anderson to bounce back tonight.

Robbie Ray ($10,700) – Ray has struck out ten batters or more in four straight starts, and gone more than six innings in all four of those as well. He is a solid cash-game play, but be aware that the Orioles do hit lefties well.

Shohei Ohtani ($8,600 DK) Ohtani has given up more than two runs in just one of his last eight starts, and in his last three starts, he has struck out at least seven batters. You have to love his price even facing a tough Astros lineup.

The Value Players

Miguel Cabrera – 1B  ($3,100) – Cabrera got hot in his last couple of games against the Pirates and it is worth seeing if that streak is going to continue. He has seven hits with two doubles in those games.

Christian Vázquez – C ($3,200) – With four hits in his last three games, Vázquez is worth a look, and at his price, you won’t need a lot for him to be worth his cost.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.- OF ($3,900) – This is as good of a matchup as you will find with the Blue Jays facing the Orioles. Gurriel has hits in seven of his last eight games with two doubles, two triples, and two home runs in that stretch.

The Stacks

Philadelphia Phillies – We talked about how hot Harper has been. I would look to add Jean Segura and Andrew McCutchen to him for a Phillies stack.

Toronto Blue Jays – The Blue Jays are going to be very chalky today, but that doesn’t mean that isn’t worth stacking. We talked about Bichette and Gurriel, and I would look at add Teoscar Hernandez to that, and Vladimir Gurrero Jr, if you can find the budget.

Tampa Bay Rays – With the Rays facing Detroit tonight, using them as a stack could pay off. I look at Nelson Cruz, and Jordan Luplow, and then add Mike Zunino to add some differentiation as Zunino is expensive for today.
