We have a five-game slate with first pitches at 7:15 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Freddie Freeman and the Atlanta Braves, taking on Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the St. Louis Cardinals (5.2), Los Angeles Dodgers(4.5), and Arizona Diamondbacks (4.5).

Light rain is expected in Queens for the Mets and Braves, so we aware of that as it may effecting the length of the outing for the starting pitchers and slow down the bats as well.

Here’s our 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 5/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherJulio Urias $10,000
 Pitcher
 CatcherYadier Molina $3,100
 First BasePavin Smith $3,400
 Second Base
 Third Base
 Short StopGavin Lux $4,600
 OutfieldJuan Soto $5,400
 Outfield
 Outfield

Salary Remaining          $200

Julio Urias ($10,000)

In his last three games, Urias hasn’t given up more than two runs, and has struck out 24 batters. The Dodgers should win this game at home, and you should get enough production to meet or exceed his value.

Yadier Molina ($4,200)

Molina has hit a double in three straight games, and he has hits in four straight games. Catcher is never a place you want to spend too much of your budget on catcher but with such a short slate tonight, it’s hard to go less than 4k, and Molina is the best option.

Pavin Smith ($3,400)

Smith has four extra-base hits in his last two games, with three double and a triple. The power hasn’t been there for him, but with the Diamondbacks having an implied run totals over four, getting some of their players at a discount could pay off.

Gavin Lux ($4,600)

Lux is a case where we are paying up for his spot in the lineup. Lux doesn’t have a hit in his last two starts, but has played well otherwise. In the four previous game he had hits in each plus a home run and a double.

Juan Soto ($5,400)

Soto hasn’t played up to his usual standard so far this season. He hasn’t hit a home run in his last seven games and he is due for a big game and a home game against the Brewers could be just what he needs to get his numbers back in line.

Here’s our full 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 5/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherJulio Urias $10,000
 PitcherPatrick Corbin $6,100
 CatcherYadier Molina $4,200
 First BasePavin Smith $3,400
 Second BaseTy France $3,100
 Third BaseStarlin Castro $2,900
 Short StopGavin Lux $4,600
 OutfieldJuan Soto $5,400
 OutfieldMookie Betts $5,900
 OutfieldJoey Gallo $4,200

Salary Remaining          $200

Patrick Corbin ($6,100)

Typically we would avoid Corbin, but going against the Brewers who struggle to hit left-handed pitching he makes sense. He showed us in his game against the Phillies that he can still be effective, so with the Brewers hitting just 0.203 and striking out 27 percent of the time against lefties, we shouldn’t struggle to hit value with Corbin.

Ty France ($3,100)

France has hits in five straight games coming into tonight. He comes in with a low price tag, and will be facing a Rangers starter who has an ERA that is over 4.5. All of this to say that France should easily return value.

Starlin Castro ($2,900)

With Castro’s price tag, he won’t have to do much to hit value. The nice part about this is that he is hitting fifth, so he should be in a position to drive in runs and score runs as well.

Mookie Betts ($5,900)

Betts much like Soto hasn’t had the start to the season that people were expecting. That said, Betts is still a threat to steal bases and hit home runs. His price tag is a little higher than I would normally be looking to pay given his recent productivity, but on a short slate you sometimes have to pay for potential.

Joey Gallo ($4,200)

In Gallo’s last three games he has two doubles and a home run. He will be facing Justin Dunn of the Mariners tonight, who struggles with giving up walks, so if Gallo can give us of his famous majestic home runs, it should come with some bonus RBI as well.

Alternative Moves…

Evan Longoria – 3B ($3,700 DK) If you choose to not go with Urias tonight, you should take a look at Longoria. He has hit a home run in two of his last four games, and he doubled home two runs in his only at bat last night. He is among the hottest hitters in baseball over the last four days, and you’re not going to have to pay up for him.

Ian Anderson– P ($9,400 DK) If you read these articles on the weekends seeing Anderson’s name here should be no surprise. He has only given up one run over his last two starts, but I do have concerns that if the game is rain delayed tonight that his start will be cut short.
