We have a eight-game slate with first pitch at 7:07 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Anthony Rizzo and the Chicago Cubs, taking on Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Los Angeles. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Toronto Blue Jays (6.6), Houston Astros (5.7), Tampa Bay Rays (5.2).

The weather looks good across the board today. We are not expecting any weather related issues.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 6/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Walker BuehlerP ($11,500)

Buehler is easily the best option when it comes to pitching today. He will be highly owned with the lack of overall pitching options. He has given up only two runs over his last three starts, and he will be facing a Cubs team that over the last two weeks has a batting average of just 0.173, and a SLG of 0.359.

Ryan Mountcastle – 1B ($4,100)

On the season Mountcastle has crushed left-handed pitching, to the tune of a 0.315/0.338/0.548 triple slash. He will be facing Anthony Kay of the Blue Jays tonight in Buffalo, and I look for him to continue to hit lefties hard.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. – 2B ($3,900)

Jazz has cooled off a bit recently, but he is still leading off, and when pitchers like Joe Ross are your opponent you want to get some exposure in the lineup and Jazz is a great way to do that without having to pay up.

Wander Franco – SS ($3,800)

While game two wasn’t as flashy as his first, Franco showed how good his plate approach is taking a couple of walks. As long as he his hitting near the top of the Rays order, and is under 4k, then he should almost be automatic.

Starling Marte – OF ($4,600)

Marte has hits in four straight games and he is coming off hitting for a combo meal(home run and a steal) last night. This is another good matchup for Marte and Marlins hitters who are near the top of the lineup.

Now what do you get if you sign up now? • Seven days free trial to read every and ALL of our content. • Full lineup support for the 50-50 lineup above • A more risky full lineup for a GPP. • A number of alternative picks that you mix in for some variations on your core lineups. Much more.

The A List

Cedric Mullins – OF ($4,700 DK) Mullins is another Orioles hitter that has hit lefthanded pitching very well this season. Mullins has a triple slash of 0.315/0.378/0.517, so don’t be surprised if Mullins breaks out of his mini-slump tonight with a left-handed starter going for Toronto.

Luis Garcia ($8,700) – In Garcia’s last five starts he has given up just one run in four out of the five starts, and the other start he only gave up three runs. He is striking out 28 percent of the batters he faces and he will be facing Detroit tonight.

The B List

Starlin Castro – 3B ($3,200) – Castro is starting to heat up. He has a double in four straight games, and he has multiple hits in two of those four games. At his price, the double will probably be enough to hit value.

Chad Kuhl ($6,900) – While I don’t typically recommend Kuhl, or Pirates pitchers in general, but the Cardinals are really struggling right now, and are coming off a couple of bad losses to Detroit. Using Kuhl is hoping to strike while the iron is hot, while taking on some serious saving with one of your pitcher spots.

The C List

Trevor Larnach – OF ($3,200) – Larnach’s home run last night was his second in five games, and when you look at his price and his location in the Twins batting order, he is very tempting, when he is third or fourth, as his potential for RBI’s and runs scored is very high.

Jorge Alfaro – C ($2,800 DK) The cost of Alfaro is one that I keep coming back to. He has at least a hit in five of his last six games, while also helping you get a higher value player into your lineup.

The Strategy

On short slates, the strategy is often almost the same. The only difference I would be making is in pitching combinations. In cash games I would prefer to do Buehler/Garcia, but in a GPP, I want to take the risk on Kuhl, as his cost saving will let you get a top name into your lineup.
