We have a nine-game slate with the first pitch at 1:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Michael Conforto and the New York Mets, taking on Gerrit Cole and the New York Yankees in the Bronx.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 7/04/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherLucas Giolito $8,900
 First BaseAlex Kirilloff $3,800
 Second BaseJonathan India $4,300
 Third Base
 Short StopWilly Adames $4,800
 OutfieldBryce Harper $5,300

Lucas Giolito  – P ($8,900)

Giolito has had his ups and downs this season, but he hasn’t given up more than three runs in any of his last four starts, and he is always capable of putting up 10 plus strikeouts, especially against a bad lineup like Detroit’s.

Alex Kirilloff – 1B ($3,800)

Kirilloff has hits in seven of his last eight games, and he has two doubles in his last three games. He won’t see a lot of tough pitching against Kansas City so expect him to continue to hit.

Jonathan India – 2B ($4,300)

India’s rookie season continues to impress. He has hits in four of his last five games, and he has two doubles and a steal in his last two games as well as he is on pace for a 12 home run, 12 steal season.

Willy Adames – SS ($4,800)

In Adames’ last five games he has three home runs, a stolen base, and he has driven in eight runs. He has played exceedingly well since coming to Milwaukee, and if he continues to bat in the middle of the order we should continue to see big numbers from him.

Bryce Harper – OF ($5,300)

Throughout Harper’s career, he has always hit lefties well, but he hasn’t hit them as well this year. However, Harper is starting to get hot as he has hit four home runs in his last six games, and he should be in a position to be a difference-maker tomorrow for the Phillies.

Now what do you get if you sign up now? • Seven days free trial to read every and ALL of our content. • Full lineup support for the 50-50 lineup above • A more risky full lineup for a GPP. • A number of alternative picks that you mix in for some variations on your core lineups. Much more.

The A List

Andrew McCutchen – OF ($3,600 DK) We should enshrine this as a rule somewhere “Always Cutch against a lefty”.  He is hitting 0.287 with seven home runs this year against left-handed pitching, and for his career, he has never had a batting average worse than 0.264 against lefties.

Freddy Peralta – P ($9,700) – How good has Peralta been this year? He hasn’t given up more than two runs in his last nine starts while striking out no less than six batters in each of those nine appearances.

The B List

Eugenio Suarez – 3B ($4,000) – Suarez has had a pretty terrible first half, but third base isn’t overly deep, and there is no way that his 0.197 batting average on balls in play can continue to be that low, so he is bound to start to get a little bit of luck, as it starts to normalize and move up closer to his 0.301 career mark.

Charlie Morton – P ($7,800) – Morton has started to settle in for the Braves. He has only given up three runs over this last three starts, and he has struck out at least seven batters in each of those three games.

The C List

Andrew Vaughn – OF ($3,000) – Vaughn has our straight multi-hit games, and he has two home runs and a double in that stretch. He has started to creep up the White Sox order, and we are getting him at a very low price.

James McCann – C ($2,500 DK) Even in a matchup against Gerrit Cole, there is a lot to like about McCann, especially at this price. He has hits in each of his last three games, including a home run, and as we have seen in the past, Cole will give up some runs, so don’t be afraid to use hitters who are playing well against him.

The Strategy

We have a lot of pitching available tomorrow. You don’t need to necessarily pay up for Cole when you have this much good pitching on the slate. I really like the Phillies bats going up against a left-handed starter tomorrow, and with the saving at pitcher, you will be able to afford to get players like Harper into your lineup.
