We have a seven-game slate with the first pitch at 7:15 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers, taking on Juan Soto and the Washington Nationals in Washington. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Colorado Rockies (6.5), St. Louis Cardinals (6.2), the Los Angeles Angels (6.0).

We don’t have a chance of rain above 10 percent today, so we shouldn’t see any rain-related issues with the games today.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 7/03/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherClayton Kershaw $10,000

 Second BaseCesar Hernandez $3,800
 Third Base

Clayton Kershaw  – P ($10,000)

Kershaw is the biggest name on tonight’s slate, and that is going to come with a lot of ownership especially when you factor in that there isn’t anyone close to his calibre available to you.

Danny Santana – 1B ($3,400)

Santana has hits in four straight games and seven of his last eight games. In those games, he has a double, a home run, and two steals. At his cost, it shouldn’t be hard for him to make or exceed his value.

Cesar Hernandez – 2B ($3,800)

Hernandez has two home runs and a double in his last four games. His ownership will likely be lower with a game against Houston, but Hernandez is well worth his price with how well he has been playing.

José Iglesias – SS ($3,900)

I’m not certain where this sudden onslaught of power has come from with Iglesias, but let’s take it. People will look past him as being a singles-only hitter, but he has two home runs in his last three games and has been hitting well for the Angels.

Joey Gallo – OF ($4,300)

Gallo has been on a ridiculous power tare over the last week. He has hit seven home runs over the last six days, and his price is still barely over 4,000. He is the type of player whose value shouldn’t be looked past as he is of the best power-hitters in baseball.

Now what do you get if you sign up now? • Seven days free trial to read every and ALL of our content. • Full lineup support for the 50-50 lineup above • A more risky full lineup for a GPP. • A number of alternative picks that you mix in for some variations on your core lineups. Much more.

The A List

Hunter Renfroe – OF ($3,800 DK) Renfroe under 4k, you have to love that. He is hitting 0.325 against left-handed pitching, with an OPS(on-base + slugging) over 1,000.

Garrett Richards – P ($7,300) – Richards hasn’t given up more than three runs in any of his last five starts. While the strikeout numbers aren’t always there for him, this is a good spot pitching in the cozy confines of the Oakland Coliseum.

The B List

Rafael Devers – 3B ($5,500) – Devers has hits in six of his last seven games, and two doubles and a home run in his last three games. You’re going to have to pay up for Devers, but he his hitting better than any third-basemen available to you tonight.

Marco Gonzales – P ($7,700) – Gonzales has only given up more than three runs in three of his starts this year, and only one of those was in his last five starts. He is pitching at home and the Mariners are the favorites to win tonight too.

The C List

Jake Fraley – OF ($3,100) – Fraley has hits in four straight games, and he has hit home runs in back-to-back games, and he is coming off a game where he hit a home run and had two steals.

Elias Diaz – C ($4,400 DK) You always want to have some shares of games in Colorado, and I think Diaz is a solid player to look at, without breaking the bank. He has hit home runs in four straight games, and he has multi-hit games in three straight. $4,400 is a lot to pay for a catcher, but it’s a little easier to pay when he is hitting in Colorado.

The Strategy

In Cash games today, we want to make sure we have Kershaw and his ownership. We are really targeting a lot of values with Boston, but that mostly because they are there. In GPP, you will want to pay down at pitchers and load up on Colorado vs St. Louis game with the game in Colorado, and the high implied run totals.
