DFS MLB Baseball Picks for July 11, 2021

Tim Anderson plays baseball
KANSAS CITY, MO - MAY 08: Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (7) celebrates after getting on base twice in the first inning during a Major League Baseball game between the Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals on May 08, 2021, at Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Mo. We have an eleven-game slate with the first pitch at 1:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies, taking on Xander Bogaerts and the Boston Red Sox in Boston. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Chicago White Sox (6.1), Minnesota Twins (5.5), the Cleveland Indians (5.2).

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 7/11/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Ian Anderson  – P ($8,300)

Coming into today Anderson hasn’t given up more than three runs in any of his last four starts. This is also a really nice matchup against the Marlins who have an SLG of just 0.362 and a batting average of 0.232 over the last two weeks.

Roberto Perez  – C ($2,400) – Perez has everything you love to see in a catcher play. He has hit home runs in back-to-back games and he has a hit in four straight games, and he is value priced. It’s the perfect storm.

Jed Lowrie – 2B ($4,000)

Lowrie has hits in seven of his last eight games, and in that stretch, he has five multi-hit games with three doubles and two home runs.

Tim Anderson – SS ($6,000)

With no real pitchers of note to pay up for today, you’re going to have some budget left to pay up for a player, and Anderson is my pick for that spot today.  He has hits in 14 of his last 15 games. If we look at just his last five games he has 13 hits, three doubles, eight runs scored, and four RBI.

Joey Gallo – OF ($4,900)

Gallo has four home runs in his last five games, and a hit in four of his last five games as well. Gallo is one of the premier power hitters in MLB and when he is going like he is right now he is a good candidate to hit multiple home runs.

The Pitchers

Adam Wainwright ($7,800 DK) At this stage of Wainwright’s career we don’t expect special things, but he has been pitching well for the Cardinals. He hasn’t given up more than three runs in a start in his last seven games, and he will be facing a Cubs team that has just a 0.362 SLG over the last two weeks, which puts them in the bottom five in MLB.

Jameson Taillon ($6,900) – We talked about the Astros risk yesterday with Cole, and he went out and owned them. That same risk is there for Taillon, but with the Astros owning a league-low 0.306 SLG in the last two weeks, now is your time to take advantage of this matchup that many people will avoid because of name value.

Dylan Cease ($9,500) – If you’re going to pay up at pitcher Cease would be my pick. He has had a couple of bad starts in his last five, but his strikeouts are consistently high, and he will be facing an Orioles lineup that has gone cold recently.

The Value Players

Garrett Cooper – 1B ($3,700)

Cooper is that classic player who has some issues with his swing, but when he is hitting he hits for power. In his last three starts, he has multi-hit games in each of them and two home runs.

Jonathan Villar  – 3B ($3,800) – Villar is in that rare air where he has 0.000 batting average on balls in play(BABIP), but an SLG over 1.000 over the last four days. How does one achieve this feat? by only hitting home runs of course. He has hit three home runs in his last three games and is a great value play for the Mets today.

Kyle Tucker – OF ($3,800) – Tucker is among the few Astros who have been hitting recently. In his last four games, he has three doubles and a home run, so if you don’t love the Taillon play for the Yankees, Tucker is a player you should think about having in play.

The Stacks

Chicago White Sox – If you can find the budget, the White Sox is a team to look to stack today. We talked about Tim Anderson earlier, but Leury Garcia is hitting and is a little cheaper, and you can also look at players like José Abreu and Andrew Vaughn as well who both over an SLG over 0.500 in the last four days.

Minnesota Twins – A Twins stack today is going to be largely on speculation, as they haven’t been putting up big run totals, but they are also facing a poor pitching team in the Tigers today. Look to players like Jorge Polanco, Max Kepler, Alex Kirilloff, and Trevor Larnach in your stacks if you’re going to take the Twins.

Cleveland Indians – We talked about Roberto Perez earlier, who can act as a linchpin with his price to ensure that you are able to get a Franmil Reyes, Oscar Mercado, Bobby Bradley, or Jose Ramirez into your stack.
