We have fourteen games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies, taking on Juan Soto and Washington Nationals in Washington. The highest implied run totals today sit with the Toronto Blue Jays (6.2), Chicago White Sox (6.0), and New York Yankees (5.6).
The weather doesn’t look like it will affect any of today’s games on the main slate.
Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 8/31/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Lucas Giolito- P ($8,800) – In Giolito’s last four starts he has given up two runs or less in each of the starts. He has also struck out eight batters in three of those starts. If we can get a similar performance tonight, then Giolito should have no issues exceeding his value.
Ryan Mountcastle– 1B ($3,900) – Mountcastle continues to crush left-handed pitching. He had two home runs yesterday with a home run, and he now has six hits in his last two games with two home runs. He will face another lefty today so look for another nice game for Mountcastle.
Patrick Wisdom–3B ($4,700) – In Wisdom’s last three games he has four home runs, and five home runs in his last five games. With the Cubs heading to Minnesota today, I would look for Wisdom’s hot streak to continue.
Bryce Harper – OF ($6,100) – Harper is on one heck of a streak. He has hits in seven straight games with multi-hit games in five of those seven games and at least one extra-base hit in six of the seven games with five doubles and three home runs.
Fernando Tatis Jr.- OF ($6,200) – Tatis is coming off a big night with three hits, a double and a home run. We will need to see a similar performance today for him to hit value, but Tatis is more than capable of that going up against Arizona.

The Pitchers
Walker Buehler ($10,500) Buehler should be a lock for cash-games today. He hasn’t given up more than two runs in a start since early July, and he has struck out at least eight batters in each of his last four starts.
Tarik Skubal ($7,400) – Skubal will face an Oakland team that has a team batting average of just 0.212 over the last two weeks and an SLG of 0.345 in that same time span, which is third-worst in MLB. As for Skubal, he hasn’t given up more than two runs in any of his last four starts and he is coming off a ten strikeout performance as well.
Zach Davies ($8,400) – Davies has only given up more than two runs in one of his last three starts. He will face a Twins offence tonight that has a team batting average of just 0.213 over the last two weeks as well.
The Value Players
Jorge Alfaro – C ($3,300) – While the Marlins offence has struggled, Alfaro has been hitting. He has a hit in seven straight games, and two doubles and a home run in his last four games.
DJ LeMahieu –2B ($3,900) – The Yankees are high on the implied run total list today, and you can get LeMahieu(their leadoff hitter) under 4k, which is tough to pass up. He has two multi-hit games in his last four games and with his spot in the lineup, he is always in a good spot to score runs.
Jack Mayfield – SS ($2,700) – When Mayfield hits home runs he seems to hit them in bunches. He has hit a home run in back-to-back games for the third time this season. With this game at home, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mayfield have another big day as he has hit much better at home this season.
The Stacks
Chicago White Sox – Yasmani Grandal has come off the injury list and has been very good. You add in Jose Abreu, and Brian Goodwin to keep the cost down and you have a nice stack for the White Sox.
New York Yankees – We talked about LeMahieu’s value, and that should help you get Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton into your lineup to get yourself a nice piece of the top of the Yankee’s lineup going up against the Angels.
Toronto Blue Jays – Last night may have been just what the Blue Jays needed to get their offence back on track. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is starting to hit for power again, Bo Bichette is hitting well, and you can add Kevin Smith who has been hitting and you will get him at a discount.
