We have nine games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Buster Posey and the San Francisco Giants, taking on Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets in New York. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Houston Astros (5.6), Tampa Bay Rays (5.5), and Chicago White Sox (5.5).

We will need to keep an eye on the weather tonight for the game of Milwaukee vs Minnesota. There is a 25 percent chance of rain by midway through the game and it only goes up from there.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 8/28/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherAdam Wainwright $9,600
 Pitcher
 Catcher
 First BasePaul Goldschmidt $5,800
 Second Base
 Third Base
 Short StopJavier Báez $4,700
 OutfieldJorge Soler $4,600
 Outfield
 OutfieldAdam Duvall $4,300

Adam Wainwright-  P  ($9,200) – Wainwright has owned Pittsburgh this season. In three starts against them he has given up one run, and he has only given up ten hits while he has struck out no less than seven batters in each of the three starts.

Paul Goldschmidt– 1B  ($5,800) – In Goldschmidt’s last five games he has had three games where he has had multiple extra-base hits. Last night he had a double and a triple, he had a two home-run game with a steal, and he had a game with a double and a home run. Not a bad stretch.

Javier Báez–SS ($4,600) – While the Mets offense is far from clicking right now, Báez has been one of the few bright spots. He has hits in four of his last five games, and he has a double and a home run in his last two games.

Jorge Soler – OF ($4,600) – Soler has hits in five of his last six games, and he has two home runs in his last four games. Soler has been a better hitter at home than on the road this season which should make him a good play today.

Adam Duvall- OF ($4,300) – Much like Soler, Duvall hit a home run last night, and while Duvall has a less favorable spot in the lineup, he is known to be one of the streakiest power hitters in baseball, so he is worth a look as this could be the start of a streak for him.

The Pitchers

Huascar Ynoa ($8,200) Ynoa had a solid game in his last time out against a tough Yankee’s lineup where he struck out nine batters and only gave up four hits. The Giants are a capable lineup, but this should be a solid start for Ynoa.

Lance Lynn ($9,600) – In Lynn’s last four starts he has given up more than one run just once. He will face a Cubs team today who isn’t scoring a lot of runs and they have been striking out 28 percent of the time over the last two weeks.

Marcus Stroman ($8,900) – Stroman has faced some tough opponents in his last five starts, but he has only given up more than three runs once in that stretch. We have also surprisingly seen his strikeout numbers tick up in those games as well with him striking out 23 batters in his last three starts.

The Value Players

Jose Trevino – C ($2,500) – It’s hard to no like cheap catchers, and Trevino fits that bill today. He has at least a hit in four straight games, and he has hit a double in three straight games as well.

Josh Donaldson –3B ($3,600) – Donaldson is one of those hitters who hits a home run and sees their salary drop. He has been red hot hitting home runs in four of his last six games, and his matchup against the Brewers today isn’t one that we should be avoiding.

Luis Robert – OF  ($3,900) – We are starting to see Robert’s price rise now that he has seemingly cemented himself at the top of the White Sox lineup. He is on a five-game hitting streak right now with two doubles and a home run in those five games to go along with a pair of three hit games.

The Stacks

Atlanta Braves – We talked about Soler and Duvall, who have both been hitting well, but I would be looking to add either Austin Riley or Ozzie Albies to them as a stack.

Chicago White Sox – The difficult part with the White Sox is fitting them into your budget. We discussed Robert who is reasonably priced, but you can look to add Leury Garcia with him and Jose Abreu who has also been hitting well this week.

Los Angeles Dodgers – The Dodgers present a similar issue to the White Sox with their salaries. You should try to use Will Smith, Trea Turner, and A.J. Pollock, but they will use a significant portion of your salary today.
