We have nine games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Buster Posey and the San Francisco Giants, taking on Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets in New York. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Boston Red Sox (6.4), Cleveland (5.3), and St.Louis Cardinals (4.8).
The weather looks good today with the chances of rain below fifteen percent for each of the games.
Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 8/26/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Max Scherzer- P ($10,400) – Scherzer will face a Padres team that as a team has a batting average of 0.191 over the last two weeks today. As for Scherzer’s performance, he hasn’t given up more than two runs in a start for the Dodgers and has struck out as many as ten batters in those four starts.
Brendan Belt– 1B ($4,200) – Belt has three home runs in his last four games, and five total hits. He will face a Mets starter in Carlos Carrasco who has given up 13 runs in his last three starts, so I would look for the Giants to score more runs tonight and Belt to be a part of it.
Kiké Hernández–2B ($4,700) – We aren’t certain where this power has come from but we will take it. He has two home runs and a double in his last two games to go along with five hits while leading off for the Red Sox.
Franmil Reyes – OF ($5,500) – While I don’t love this price, Franmil’s power is undeniable. He has three home runs in his last six games, and with him facing a Rangers starter with a 5.5 ERA it wouldn’t be a surprise to hit another home run tonight.
Kyle Schwarber- OF ($4,800) – Schwarber is coming off a three-hit game where he hit a home run. He has three straight games with hits, and we have seen Schwarber go through prolonged streaks where he hits for power.

The Pitchers
Zac Gallen ($7,600) Gallen is coming off a nine-strikeout, three-hit performance in Colorado. Today he will face a Phillies team who over the last two weeks has a team batting average of 0.192, and an SLG of 0.347, which is the third-worst in baseball in that span of time.
Miles Mikolas ($7,100) – Mikolas was solid in his first start off of the injury list against the Pirates going five innings and striking out five batters. He will face that same Pirates lineup today so I would look for similar results.
Yusei Kikuchi ($7,300) – Kikuchi struggled in his last start but has largely been good otherwise. In his three previous starts, he had only given up four runs while striking out five batters on average.
The Value Players
Yu Chang – 1B/3B ($2,200) – As a minimum-priced player, there is a lot to like about Chang. He has four hits, two home runs, and a double in his last two games. He will also get to face a Rangers pitching staff that is among the worst in baseball.
Jorge Polanco –2B ($3,400) – Sometimes I don’t understand the algorithms that are used to determine pricing. Polanco has three straight games with a home run, and his price is down from what it was yesterday.
Alex Verdugo – OF ($3,500) – Verdugo has three straight multi-hit games with two doubles and a home run in that span. He will face the Twins again today whom the Red Sox have had no issues scoring runs against.
The Stacks
Boston Red Sox – The Red Sox are expected to score the most runs tonight, so stacking them makes some sense. I would go with the three players we discussed in Verdugo, Hernandez, and Schwarber.
San Francisco Giants – We talked about Belt, but I would be looking at add Kris Bryant, and Mike Yastrzemski who have both also been hitting well.
St. Louis Cardinals – When looking at the Cardinals tonight, I like a stack of Goldschmidt, Tommy Edman, and Tyler O’Neill. They won’t cause you to use up a lot of your budget and they all should be in line for a good night tonight.
