We have fourteen games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Eloy Jimenez and the Chicago White Sox, taking on Bo Bichette and the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Boston Red Sox (6.4), Los Angeles Angels (5.6), and the Houston Astros (5.3).

The weather looks good today with the chances of rain below ten percent for each of the games.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 8/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherJack Flaherty $9,600
 Pitcher
 Catcher
 First BasePaul Goldschmidt $4,500
 Second BaseKolton Wong $4,400
 Third Base
 Short StopAmed Rosario $4,000
 Outfield
 Outfield
 OutfieldChristian Yelich $5,400

Jack Flaherty-  P  ($9,600) – Since coming off of the injury list, Flaherty has looked great. He hasn’t given up more than two runs in either start, and he struck out eight batters in his last start. He will face a Tigers team that strikes out 25 percent of the time tonight so look for a good start from Flaherty tonight.

Paul Goldschmidt– 1B  ($4,500) – Goldschmidt comes into tonight with multi-hit games in six of his last seven games, and five doubles and a home run in his last five games.

Kolton Wong–2B ($4,600) – Wong has hits in each of his last five starts and he is coming off a game where he had a home run and a triple. Wong leads off for the Brewers so he should get lots of at-bats and keep his hitting streak going.

Amed Rosario – SS ($4,000) – In Rosario’s last four games he has two three-hits games, a pair of two-hit games, two home runs, and two doubles, so I guess you could say he is hitting well right now.

Christian Yelich  – OF ($5,400) – Yelich looks to be starting to play well. He has five hits in his last two games with two home runs and a steal. He will face a Reds starter with an ERA near four today and he will be at home.

The Pitchers

Madison Bumgarner ($7,100) Bumgarner has been consistently good over the last two months. He hasn’t given up more than two runs in a game since May, and he will face a Pirates team that has one of the worst offenses in the league.

Eli Morgan ($7,700) – Morgan is coming off a start where he gave up just three hits and struck out eight batters. He will face a Rangers team that has really struggled to score runs all year.

Dylan Cease ($8,300) – Cease has three straight games where he has given up three runs, which isn’t ideal but he will be facing a Blue Jays team that is really struggling to score runs right now, and Cease does strike out 30 percent of the batters he faces so there is definitely upside there.

The Value Players

Dalton Varsho – C/OF ($3,600) – In Varsho’s last three-game he has hit a home run in each game, and he was a single away from hitting for the cycle on Sunday. He is is a really nice value at catcher, and he will face a Pirates team that is littered with bad pitching.

Carter Kieboom –3B ($2,100) – Kieboom’s first eighty games for the Nationals haven’t been great, but he has started to hit much better recently. He has hits in five of his last six games and two home runs in his last four games.

Anthony Santander – OF  ($2,800) – Santander has been hitting in the middle of the Orioles lineup, and he is a player when he gets hot has been able to have some nice streaks. In his last two games he has three hits, and two home runs, so he may be right at the start of some of those streaks

The Stacks

Boston Red Sox – The Red Sox are expected to score the most runs tonight, so stacking them makes some sense. You should be able to use Alex Verdugo, Hunter Renfroe, and Rafael Devers and still have lots of budgets to spend.

Houston Astros – We are going back to the Astros yet again today. Vegas is expecting them to score lots of runs again today, so I would be looking at Taylor Jones, Jose Altuve, and Yuli Gurriel for a stack.

St. Louis Cardinals – We discussed Goldschmidt, but you can add Tyler O’Neill and Edmundo Sosa who are both hitting for a low-cost stack going up against the Tigers tonight.
