We have eleven games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels, taking on Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Los Angeles. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Cincinnati Reds (6.1), Tampa Bay Rays (6.0), and the Colorado Rockies (5.9).

There doesn’t appear to be any risk of rain for any of today’s games with the chances of rain below 20 percent for all of the games.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 8/07/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherYu Darvish $10,100
 Pitcher
 Catcher
 First Base
 Second Base
 Third BaseNolan Aranado $5,400
 Short StopCarlos Correa $3,900
 OutfieldMookie Betts $6,400
 Outfield
 OutfieldYordan Alvarez $4,500

Yu Darvish –  P  ($10,100) – We have seen struggles from Darvish recently, but he does continue to strike lots of batters out(17 in his last three games), and he will have a good matchup going against Arizona at home.

Nolan Aranado – 3B  ($5,400) – Aranado has hits in five of his last seven games with a double and a home run in his last two games. It’s a good matchup for Aranado who will face the Royals at home.

Carlos Correa – SS  ($3,900) – This is a great price for Correa. He hits in the middle of the Astros order and had five hits in five games against two tough pitching teams in the Giants and the Dodgers. He will face a much friendlier matchup from the Twins today.

Mookie Betts  – OF ($6,400) You would never know that Mookie missed two weeks when you look at his three games since coming off the IL. In those three games, he has five hits and three home runs.

AJ Pollock– OF  ($4,300) – Pollock is in the midst of a thirteen-game hitting streak, and he has ten hits in his last five games with three doubles a home run, and a stolen base. He isn’t going to cost you a whole lot and you will likely get lots of production from him.

The Pitchers

Julio Urías ($10,500 DK)  This is a hefty price to pay for a pitcher who often doesn’t go six innings. Urías has pitched well recently having only given up two runs in this last three starts, while striking out 17 batters in those games, but it could be tough for him to hit value, but he should get the win.

Vladimir Gutierrez  ($7,000) – This is a great price. Gutierrez has only given up more than 2 runs in a start one time in his last five starts, and he will be facing a Pirates team that has the lowest team SLG over the last two weeks.

Charlie Morton ($9,400) – Morton should be a lock to go at least six innings tomorrow going up against a struggling Nationals team. He strikes out 27 percent of the batters he faces, so if he can limit the runs he gives up, then he shouldn’t have an issue hitting his value or exceeding it tomorrow.

The Value Players

Andrew Knizner – C ($2,200) – We are seeing some signs that Knizner’s bat is coming around. He has four hits in his last five games including two doubles and a home run.

Connor Joe  -1B ($2,600) – It can be hard to go wrong with players who are playing in Colorado in general, then when you add in a price tag that is near the minimum it gets even harder. In Joe’s case, he has hits in four of his last five games, with three of those games being multi-hit efforts, and two home runs in those five games.

Luis García – 2B ($3,300) – We have seen some recent flashes recently from Garcia as to why people were excited for him. He has three hits in his last two games with two home runs. You’re going to get him at an inexpensive price, and if he keeps hitting he should start to move up in the Nationals order as well.

The Stacks

Tampa Bay Rays – One of the most difficult things about the Rays is they have so much depth that it can be hard to predict who will play each day. The Primary targets right now are going to be Nelson Cruz, but you should be able to add Jordan Luplow who has been leading off, and Mike Zunino who has been hitting well. Just make sure you check their lineup when its released.

Cincinnati Reds – The Reds are now healthy, with Castellanos and Moustakas healthy, the Reds have one of the more dangerous lineups in baseball. Castellanos is very reasonably priced, and you can add in Jonathan India, and Kyle Farmer and you have a nice stack and none of the players were over 5k.

Colorado Rockies – We talked about Connor Joe, but when you add the value of CJ Cron, you have the budget left to add Trevor Story and Garrett Hampson, both of which are hitting well.
