We have seven games today with the first pitch at 7:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Cedric Mullins and the Baltimore Orioles, taking on Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees in New York. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the New York Yankees (6.3), San Francisco Giants (5.7), and the Milwaukee Brewers (5.5).

We don’t have a single game today that has a chance of rain above 20 percent, so we shouldn’t have any games postponed or delayed.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 8/02/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherAnthony DeSclafani $9,300
 Pitcher
 Catcher
 First BaseAnthony Rizzo $4,700
 Second Base
 Third BaseKyle Seager $4,700
 Short Stop
 OutfieldAustin Meadows $4,500
 Outfield
 OutfieldAdolis Garcia $3,800

Anthony DeSclafani – P ($9,300) – While DeSclafani has struggled a bit lately, he is still a great option today. The Giants are heavy favorites to win the game against Arizona and DeSclafani has shown strong strikeout numbers even when he is giving up runs.

Anthony Rizzo– 1B  ($4,700) – Rizzo has looked good since coming over to the Yankees. He has hit a home run in two of his three games, and he owns a hit streak of nine games.

Kyle Seager – 3B  ($4,700) – Coming into today’s game Seager has hits in eleven of his last twelve games. He has hit home runs in four of his six games and is among the hottest hitters in baseball in the last few weeks.

Auston Meadows – OF ($4,500) – Meadows has started to heat up. He has a double and two home runs in his last four games and the Rays have a nice matchup tonight going up against the Mariners at home.

Adolis García –OF ($3,800) Garcia looks to be getting hot again. He has hits in seven of his last nine games and he has three doubles and two home runs in that time frame. He likely won’t see much ownership as the Rangers aren’t a team people will be looking to get players from.

The Pitchers

Tylor Megill ($9,600 DK) Megill has given up just three runs in his last five starts. He often doesn’t go deep into games, so he is a riskier play because once he does give up runs his start will be even shorter, but the risk of him blowing up is lessened by playing the Marlins in Miami.

Andrew Heaney ($8,600) – Heaney hasn’t been great for the Angels, but there is hope that his change of scenery will help him turn things around. He has struck out fifteen betters over these last two games, and he should be able to get the win tonight against the Orioles.

Jesús Luzardo ($6,900) – While the Mets have been winning lots of games, they aren’t the most imposing team offensively. Luzardo strikes out nearly 24 percent of the batters he faces, so him providing a good start tonight wouldn’t be a big surprise.

The Value Players

Jonah Heim – C ($2,700) – Heim has suddenly become red hot. Over the last three games, he has hit four home runs on five hits. I don’t know how long this streak will last, but at his price, it is worth finding out.

Donovan Solano  – 2B ($3,000) – Solano has three straight multi-hit games, with a double and a home run in those three games. The Giants are expected to score lots of runs tonight, so getting a piece of them at a discount could really pay off.

Avísail Garcia – OF ($3,900) – Garcia has four multi-hit games in his last five games played, for ten hits in four games. In that time he also has added a double and a home run, and he is hitting in the middle of the Brewers’ order.

The Stacks

New York Yankees – The Yankees will see high ownership tonight, and that is fine in cash games. Gallo is one of their players who are over 5k, so you can add Judge, and Stanton to Rizzo and have a lot of home run potential.

San Francisco Giants – I like a Giants stack tonight. Brandon Crawford and Darin Ruf have been playing well and you can add them to the previously mentioned Solano and still have lots of budget to spend.

Milwaukee Brewers – I don’t expect the Brewers will see high ownership tonight. We talked about Garcia, but you can use Rowdy Tellez who has been hitting, as well as Willy Adames who has played well since becoming a Brewer.
