We have a five-game main slate on Saturday with the first pitch at 7:05 pm EST. We should have another fun day, with Fernando Tatis Jr. and the San Diego Padres, going head to head with Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

We shouldn’t have any weather issues tonight which is great news with it already being a short slate.

Here’s our 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 4/2/21 (using DraftKings Values)

PitcherYu Darvish $9,400
Pitcher
CatcherLuis Torrens $3,200
First BaseYuli Gurriel $3,900
Second Base
Third Base
Short StopLuis Urías $3,300
Outfield 1Trent Grisham $5,100
Outfield 2
Outfield 3

Salary Remaining          $100

Yu Darvish ($9,400)

A big game early in the season in southern California with the Padres and the Dodgers. This will be a test for Darvish, but he has looked good in his first three starts striking out no less than six batters in each of his first three games. Look for Darvish to pitch well again here today and provide a good score even if he doesn’t get the win.

Luis Torrens ($3,200)

Torrens isn’t likely to wow anyone, but he does hit in the middle of the Mariners lineup, and the Mariners are going to face a Houston team that hasn’t looked good this week. Zack Grienke, the Astros pitcher, got roughed up by the Tigers giving up six runs in four and two-thirds of an inning. If Grienke struggles again you should be able to get really good value from Torrens.

Yuli Gurriel ($3,900)

In his last four games, Gurriel has eight hits and a couple of doubles. The Astros will get Chris Flexen tonight who is yet to go more than five innings and gave up six runs in his first start. Gurriel will be hitting in the middle of the Astros order, which gives him a great opportunity to meet or exceed his value.

Luis Urías ($3,300)

In Urías’ last four games he has two doubles and a home run and has reached base safely in all four games. In a matchup against the Pirates pitching, which is fifth-worst in MLB in ERA, I would look for the Brewers to score some runs and Urias to be a part of that effort.

Trent Grisham ($5,100)

Since coming off the DL, Grisham has been among the hottest hitters in baseball. In his last six games he has three home runs, and a steal, to go along with seven total hits. Grisham has hit lefties well so far in his young career, which should aid him well going against Kershaw tonight.

Here’s our full 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 4/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

PitcherYu Darvish $9,400
PitcherDean Kremer $6,000
CatcherLuis Torrens $3,200
First BaseYuli Gurriel $3,900
Second BaseDavid Fletcher $4,300
Third BaseKyle Seager $5,100
Short StopLuis Urías $3,300
Outfield 1Trent Grisham $5,100
Outfield 2Mitch Haniger $3,900
Outfield 3Mike Trout  $6,100

Salary Remaining          $100

Dean Kremer ($6,000)

Kremer is a risk-reward player. His first two starts haven’t been spectacular, but he has shown that he will strike batters out. On the season the Rangers strike out 28.8 percent of the time and are in the bottom third of the league in runs scored. All of this to say, that while this could be another poor start for Kremer, it could just as easily get you 5-6 strikeouts, and the win, at a really cheap price.

David Fletcher ($4,300)

Fletcher is a floor player. He has hits in each of his last five games, and with the Angels having the highest implied run total tonight, having their leadoff hitter is one that can return value and then some.

Kyle Seager ($5,100)

Seager is another Mariners hitter who has been on a tear this week. Seager has two home runs, two doubles, and eight hits in his last six games. His price is high, but he does have the ability to hit multiple home runs, and he will be hitting in the middle of the order which should be valuable in a game where Vegas expects the Mariners to score more than four runs.

Mitch Haniger ($3,900)

Haniger has nine hits in his last four games including two home runs. He is a player that has hit well when he is healthy, and he’s not going to break the bank tonight either, but due to his low cost, he is likely to see high ownership.

Mike Trout ($6,100)

Picking players over 6k isn’t for the faint of heart, but in cash games, it does come with some residual value. Trout has two home runs and three doubles in these last seven games, and he is rarely as zero. The added value you get from him is he will get high ownership as well.

Alternative Moves…

Shohei Ohtani – OF ($5,000 DK) If you want to pay down from Trout to make other changes in your lineup, Ohtani isn’t a bad way to go. You still get a premium spot in the Angels lineup, and Ohtani has two three-hit games in his last four starts, which include two doubles, a home run and a steal.

Clayton Kershaw – P ($10,000 DK) Outside of his first start in Colorado, Kershaw has pitched as you would expect. He has given up just one run and has struck out 14 in his last two starts, so if you would prefer to go with Kershaw instead of Darvish then I could see that, or if you think it will be a low scoring game, you could go with both, as they both strike out enough batters to be valuable without getting the win.
