DFS LoL LCS Spring Split Week 5 Day 3 Picks for March 7, 2021

LOL DFS Picks from the World's
Insanity LoL DFS

The CLG miracle run ended as fast as it started. With CLG’s loss to FlyQuest they are officially out of playoff contention and only eight teams remain in the fight for playoffs.

Here’s a partial lineup of players who had monster performances on Saturday with great matchups on Sunday for March 7 on DraftKings and FanDuel

MVP
Top Lane
JungleXerxe$6,200 DK, $7,500 FD
Mid LaneInsanity$6,800 DK, $8,500 FD
AD Carry
Support
TEAM100 Thieves$5,800 DK, $7,900 FD

Xerxe ($6,200 DK, $7,500 FD) completely shutdown the early game plan from Svenskeren and Evil Geniuses. Xerxe did a fantastic job punishing over aggressive jungle invades from the EG side getting out to a quick 3-0 dragon score. Xerxe had a perfect score line on Hecarim at 4/0/10 and moving into their matchup against FlyQuest on Sunday should have similar success against Josedeodo. Josedeodo loves to focus on clearing the jungle, often looking for invades to punish his opponents poor pathing or miscues on ganks. Xerxe and Immortals should look to implement a similar game plan against FlyQuest.

While Xerxe controlled the early game, Insanity ($6,800 DK, $8,500 FD) dominated the late game for Immortals. Insanity finished with a score line of 6/2/10 and had some massive Azir shuffles to halt any chance of an Evil Geniuses comeback. Insanity’s opponent Palafox has double the average deaths per game and can be exploited to blow a game open. Insanity has had strong laning with very few mistakes. Should Insanity team up with Xerxe again and put pressure on mid lane, Palafox is bound to crack.

100 Thieves ($5,800 DK, $7,900 FD) have a much needed matchup against Golden Guardians. 100 Thieves have been struggling lately dropping their last three games in a row. A matchup with Golden Guardians should help all the players on 100 Thieves get out of this funk as all of them are better than their opponents individually. The question is will they be able to get it together as a team. Golden Guardians actually beat 100 Thieves earlier in the season due to a huge draft advantage which shouldn’t happen again. 100 Thieves needs to get this win to protect their current playoff spot with FlyQuest and Immortals breathing down their neck.

Please note that Damonte has been subbed out for 100 Thieves during this weekend’s matches. Former starting mid laner and academy mid laner for 100 Thieves, ry0ma, will be taking over. FanDuel has not yet added ry0ma to their player database so he is unable to be selected for this weekend’s matches. Therefore, you are unable to select a mid laner for 100 Thieves for Saturday’s games. Hopefully ry0ma’s toolkit will be better suited for the meta and give 100 Thieves a much-needed playoff push towards the end of the season.

FanDuel Lineup for March 7

MVPTactical$10,100 FD
Top LaneAlphari$8,200 FD
JungleXerxe$7,500 FD
Mid LaneInsanity$8,500 FD
AD CarryNeo$9,300 FD
SupportHuhi$7,700 FD
TEAM100 Thieves$7,900 FD
Remaining Salary $800 FD

Tactical ($11,100 [MVP] DK, $10,100 FD) has been very hot and cold this season. At times he has put Team Liquid in difficult positions and even lost them games due to his poor positioning and greedy playstyle in the mid and late game. However, when he’s on, he’s on. Tactical has the fourth highest points per game on FanDuel and could be higher if not for his dreadful performances in some games. Tactical has one of the highest ceilings for scoring and should score big against one of the bloodiest bot lanes in the league from CLG in WildTurtle and Smoothie.

Alphari ($7,200 DK, $8,200 FD) completely 1v9’ed Team Liquid’s game against Cloud9. He was up 20 CS in the early game against Fudge and after two teleport misplays resulting in two deaths for Alphari, still managed to carry. Two key solo kills on Perkz and Fudge in the side lane gave Team Liquid the pressure release needed to win from behind. Not even one split into his LCS career, Alphari is considered one of if not the best player in the league. He’ll be facing his European counterpart Finn on Sunday which is a matchup we saw plenty of times in the LEC and should have the same result, Alphari winning and Finn losing.

Neo ($7,000 DK, $9,300 FD) had one of the biggest individual performances in recent memory. He went 14/1/4 on Kai’sa against Golden Guardians which included two triple kills and one penta kill. Neo has a tough matchup against Deftly and IgNar but Dignitas and one big advantage that could swing the matchup, picking on blue side. Now why is this so important? Kai’sa is the top AD carry in the meta and both bot laners have found massive success on the champion. However, Kai’sa is the least banned AD carry among the top four highest presence champions (Presence = number of times a champion is picked + banned) in the bot lane. This often translates to Kai’sa not getting banned in the first ban phase and being selected first on blue side. Unless there’s a huge changeup in the drafting in this game, we should see Dignitas getting Kai’sa as their first pick for Neo.

Huhi ($5,800 DK, $7,700 FD) has gone from looking like one of the best players on his team and top supports in the league to mediocre. He doesn’t seem to be on the same page as his team during skirmishes and teamfights, often getting caught out or going in to early with no backup. Luckily, he’s up against Stixxay and Newbie who are the weakest bot lane in the league, hopefully getting Huhi some confidence back moving into the home stretch of the season.

DraftKings Lineup for March 7

MVPCloser$11,100 [MVP] DK
Top LaneAlphari$7,200 DK
JungleXerxe$6,200 DK
Mid LaneInsanity$6,800 DK
AD CarryNeo$7,000 DK

TEAM100 Thieves$5,800 DK
Remaining Salary $100 DK

Closer ($11,100 [MVP] DK, 8,700 FD) is a great value MVP pick for Sunday’s matches. He’s a much cheaper option than many of the top MVP choices and still has great points per game at 22.4. Closer has great matchup against Iconic, a player who has the lowest jungle proximity in the league who choses to farm rather than gank. At his peak Closer was all about ganking, looking for early tower dives in top or bot lane to get the snowball rolling for 100 Thieves. If 100 Thieves wants to get out of this slump, they need to get back to what was making them successful in the Lock In and at the start of the season.
