DFS LoL LCS Spring Split Week 3 Day 3 Picks for February 21, 2021

League of Legends World Championships DFS

In the last day of week three of the 2021 spring split, TSM has the chance to tie for first, Team Liquid could finish under .500, or Dignitas could be third as the first round robin concludes. Each game on Sunday has a pivotal affect on the standings which should result in some exciting games.

Here’s a partial lineup of players who have great individual matchups for February 21 on DraftKings and FanDuel

Once against it’s the story of who’s up against Niles. Niles has the worst average deaths per game in the entire league with 5.4, with the next highest at only 4.3. While Ssumday ($6,400 DK, $8,500 FD) often takes a backseat in the laning phasing choosing to scale for teamfights, against Niles he should be able to play much more aggressive as Golden Guardians send minimal pressure topside. Ssumday should just be able to bully Niles in the isolated one versus one to lead 100 Thieves to a much needed win after a disappointing game against TSM.

PowerOfEvil ($7,200 DK, $9,000 FD) has been the reason for TSM’s resurgence in the spring split. TSM seemed out of sorts in the LCS Lock In tournament and there were questions about their roster and if changes needed to be made. TSM has now won six games in a row and could be tied for first after week three if they win and Cloud9 loses. PowerOfEvil’s score line in their six consecutive wins is 27/7/24 and has brought back Viktor into the control mage champion pool. Soligo has been a great performer for Dignitas, expect heavy mid pressure from TSM in their game against DIG.

Diamond ($5,000 DK, $6,400 FD) is listed as the second cheapest support on FanDuel and sixth cheapest on DraftKings. Diamond is a strong value pick which allows you to spend bigger on carry roles. Diamond has done a great job utilizing peel champions for his team allowing players like Johnsun and Josedeodo to carry. FlyQuest has a great matchup in the bot lane against Stixxay and Newbie, the worst bot lane in the league and should have no problem scaling.

The jungler with a difficult matchup who can still get it done

While Evil Geniuses has drawn CLG for their Sunday match, I’ve primarily stayed away from EG playes as EG is one of the most inconsistent teams in the LCS losing to various bottom-tier teams. As well, Evil Geniuses’ multiple carry players can make it difficult to capitalize on EG wins. More often than not in wins, one EG player has a huge game while the rest have average points.

FanDuel Lineup for February 21

MVPLost$9,700 FD
Top LaneSsumday$8,500 FD
JungleBlaber$9,000 FD
Mid LanePowerOfEvil$9,000 FD
AD CarryJohnsun$9,300 FD
SupportDiamond$6,400 FD
TEAM100 Thieves$8,000 FD
Remaining Salary $100

Like PowerOfEvil, Lost ($11,100 [MVP] DK, $9,700 FD) has been very successful in TSM’s six game winning streak with a score line of 34/5/33. Lost has been all about late game hyper-carry champions like Kai’sa and Xayah. SwortArt’s massive improvements in the laning phase have allowed Lost to safely get to the late game either even or ahead to be in a position to clean up fights. TSM has a difficult bot lane matchup against Neo and Aphromoo, but as long as they don’t fall behind early Lost should continue dominate teamfights.

While Blaber ($7,400 DK, $9,000 FD) does a difficult matchup against Santorin on paper, their playstyles heavily differ which should give Blaber the edge. Blaber plays a much more aggressive risky style of jungling in the early game, contesting early camps, buffs, scuttle crabs, dragons, and rift heralds through mechanics and pressure. Santorin takes a much more calculated approach, playing safe when his team isn’t around and taking many low risk-reward plays. Should Blaber get a comfortable champion and find success in the early game he should be able to run over a slumping Team Liquid.

It’s Johnsun ($7,600 DK, $9,300 FD) or bust for FlyQuest. FlyQuest’s ability to win games hinges on Johnsun as when he’s ahead can dominate but when his team falls behind can struggle to make an impact. Johnsun had a great fasting Senna game against Golden Guardians and should look to play it against if possible, against Immortals. For better or worse Immortals have one of the most aggressive bot lanes in the league who constantly look for fights. Senna and Tahm Kench act as a neutralizer in the lane and should give FlyQuest the ability to play for late game where Johnsun shines.

100 Thieves ($5,800 DK, $8,000 FD) have the easiest matchup on Sunday facing Golden Guardians. 100 Thieves have one of the most active early games in the league whereas Golden Guardians have one of the most passive. The dynamic of Closer versus Iconic should be the story of this game as Iconic prefers to farm in the early game where Closer looks for ganks/dives.

DraftKings Lineup for February 21

MVPLost$11,100 [MVP] DK
Top LaneSsumday$6,400 DK
JungleSpica$7,000 DK
Mid LanePowerOfEvil$7,200 DK
AD CarryJohnsun$7,600 DK
SupportDiamond$5,000 DK
TEAMEvil Geniuses$5,600 DK
Remaining Salary $100

While Lost and PowerOfEvil have done the heavy lifting in teamfights, Spica ($7,000 DK, $8,200 FD) has been responsible for their great objective control. Twice this season TSM has been down three dragons to zero and not giving up soul to their opponents. Spica has a great sense for position around major objectives and coming up clutch with his smites. There’s no one I’d rather have in a 50/50 around dragon or baron than Spica.

Evil Geniuses ($5,600 DK, $7,900 FD) rallied in the mid game in their upset win over Team Liquid. Impact was sitting with a score line of 0/4/1 almost ten minutes into the game and it was looking like a Team Liquid victory after topside became so lopsided. However, EG managed to bounce back with some great teamfights in the mid and late game halting Team Liquid’s game plan of top lane dives. Impact had great Gnar ultimates in teamfights and finished with a score line of 6/6/10.
