Two teams in each conference remain. The dream of lifting the Stanley Cup is one round closer. The New York Islanders finished the job yesterday with stifling defense having kept the Flyers to only 16 shots. They will face the Tampa Bay Lightning tomorrow in the first showdown of the Eastern Conference finals. Today starts a fantastic matchup between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars. These are two physical teams with an abundance of scoring talent and amazing goaltending to back it up. We can’t wait to share with you our picks for who will get it done tonight.
Tyler Seguin moving back to center has pushed Roope Hintz ($8,100 DK, $7,000 FD) down the depth chart but he has been making the most of his time. He has five points in his last five games and is seeing some time on the second power play. He has done a great job filling in where necessary and will continue to be an important depth piece for the Stars. Don’t sleep on him.
Captain DFS Pick For 9/6/20
Mark Stone ($13,200 DK, $14,500 FD) and Max Pacioretty ($10,000 DK, $15,500 FD) tend to score in bunches and it has been a few games. They are due and will be doing so in a tone setting match. They will be the ones driving the pace and trying to set an example for the rest of the team. Stone in particular is the spirit leader on the team and he will be trying to light a fire under his squad to keep the Stars at bay. Take your favorite as captain.
Flex DFS Picks For 9/6/20
Miro Heiskanen ($8,000 DK, $11,000 FD) is the last of the new young defensive studs in the playoffs. Frequently in the same conversation as Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar he has several more points than either as they head home from the bubble. With thirteen points in his last nine look for him to set the stage tonight and see if he can figure out Robin Lehner. We do think he is a bit overpriced on FanDuels and he is not currently in our lineup there so we can afford the next two guys.
For our money you still can’t beat Denis Gurianov ($6,600 DK, $9,000 FD). It feels like cheating going back eight games to count his five point night so we are sticking to the past six games. He still has eight points in that time and is establishing himself in the top middle of the pack for the Stars. His linemate Joe Pavelski used to play for coach deBoer and it will be interesting to see if he can use that knowledge to his advantage.
Alex Tuch ($6,400 DK, $8,500 FD) has earned his way onto Vegas’ second power play and continues to put up solid shots on goal every game. He may be the last guy on our list today but he is just as dangerous as most of them. We are curious to see if he plays well enough to earn some time on the second line. He is poised to breakout soon.
Avoid DFS Picks For 9/6/20
A lot of our sleeper picks are for guys who have been quietly putting together some consistency and whose price has not yet matched their value. While this player is somewhat reasonably priced on DraftKings his cost on FanDuel is absolutely absurd. Joel Kiviranta should not be picked right now. Do not chase another hat trick from a fourth line replacement player.
That’s all we have for today folks. Stay tuned and stay on your toes we have hit the next level of intensity and we are excited for the ride.
