As we move another step closer to the Tour Championship at Eastlake CC the updated (PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs ) standings link is here for your perusal. Look for the best performances to come from the competitors that have the most to gain from playing loose and going for broke this week. There is no cut this week, so you will see the guys playing very aggressive from 31-70 to work their way into the top 30 to qualify for the Tour Championship. The competitors in the top 20 are playing with house money this week and will be jockeying for position to vie for the (Tour Championship ) title and a $15,000,000 pay day next week.
This week at (Olympia Fields CC ) the North Course will be playing to a Par 70 at 7,366 yards. The North Course was designed by Willie Park, Jr., the famed Scottish golf architect. This stellar field of 70 is headlined by Dustin Johnson ($11,500 DK-$12,000 FD) after his resounding 11 stroke victory over Harris English ($8,300 DK-$10,300 FD) last week. Justin Thomas ($10,800 DK-$11,700 FD) is the 2019 defending BMW Championship winner when it was hosted at Medinah #3 Course. Olympia Fields has a long history of hosting major championships with the U.S. Open in 1928 and 2003, along with the PGA Championship in 1925 and 1961, in addition to the 2015 U.S. Amateur, won by Bryson DeChambeau ($10,600 DK-$11,600 FD).
The weather forecast for Thursday through Sunday calls for temperature highs between 84 –71 degrees with humidity levels reaching 67 percent. The chance of thundershowers is probable on Friday with wind ranging each day from five to twelve miles per hour. If one is on the wrong side of the weather, the wind could play a factor with later tee times, and you may very well see a player from four to six strokes behind who plays a great round, rise up and contend for the win.

The most probable winners amongst the elite competitors this week are ranked appropriately with Dustin Johnson ($11,500 DK-$12,000 FD), Jon Rahm ($11,000 DK-$11,800 FD), Justin Thomas ($10,800 DK-$11,700 FD), Bryson DeChambeau ($10,600 DK-$11,600 FD), Rory McIlroy ($10,300 DK-$11,500 FD), Xander Schauffele ($9,900 DK-$11,400 FD), Daniel Berger ($9,700 DK-$11,200 FD), and Collin Morikawa ($9,500 DK-$11,100 FD). This grouping is strong on strokes gained from a combination of distance, and on approach proximity to the hole. In addition, the aforementioned, are the leaders in wins and top 10 finishes. This is a big course at 7,366 yards and a Par of 70. This big course requires a horse, that can get to the finish line faster than the next thoroughbred. Ultimately, even the best of ball strikers will have to make their fair share of putts to find the victory circle. While there are no bargains here, you will get what you pay for.
B-List DFS Picks at The BMW Championship: 2020
I would load my lineup with this grouping with the competitors that have the same qualifications required to play this beast well; strokes gained from distance, on approach proximity to the hole, and those that have performed well or have won on a major championship venue. Standouts in this grouping ranked 10-33 in salary range include: Patrick Cantlay ($8,900 DK-$10,700 FD), Patrick Reed ($8,800 DK-$10,800 FD), Tony Finau ($8,700 DK-$10,400 FD), Tiger Woods ($8,600 DK-$10,500 FD), Hideki Matsuyama ($8,500 DK-$10,100 FD), Adam Scott ($ 8,200 DK-$9,900 FD), Billy Horschel ($8,000 DK-$9,400 FD), Viktor Hovland ($8,100 DK-$10,000 FD), Gary Woodland ($7,800 DK-$8,900 FD), and Louis Oosthuizen ($8,000 DK-$9,300 FD). Also, in this grouping is Ryan Palmer ($7,600 DK-$8,700 FD), one of the hottest players on Tour since the restart and is a great value as your third to fifth roster selection.
C-List DFS Picks at The BMW Championship: 2020
With no cut this week I think it would be smart to stack your lineup with competitors on the A and B list, then take a PGA Tour winner at the end of the salary range such as Tom Hoge ($6,100 DK-$7,000 FD), Carlos Ortiz ($6,000 DK-$7,000 FD), or Jim Herman ($6,000 DK-$7,000 FD) to save salary and to create a more unique lineup that will set you apart from other DFS challengers. If one of these guys really plays well or even finishes in the top 20, it could make a big difference in rendering you a winning lineup.
