NHL DFS Picks For April 14, 2022

Brady Tkachuk
VANCOUVER, BC - JANUARY 25: Vancouver Canucks Goaltender Thatcher Demko (35) makes a save as Defenseman Tyler Myers (57) defends against Ottawa Senators Left Wing Brady Tkachuk (7) during their NHL game at Rogers Arena on January 25, 2021 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The two biggest games of the day wre going to be the Dallas Stars vs the Minnesota Wild and the Vegas Golden Knights vs the Calgary Flames. We are not even going to attempt to bet on the first one, it can go any which way. The latter can still go in any direction but we feel more confident in the Flames on the whole. Vegas has some goaltending issues and the Flames are humming.

Here’s a fiery lineup For DFS Hockey 4/14/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Center

WingJ. Gaudreau$7,000

DefenseR. Andersson$4,100
Defense
GoalieJ. Markstrom$8,300
Utility

Jakob Markstrom is unlikely to add to his league leading 9 shutouts tonight, but we are pulling for him to get one more this season. He has been outstanding even under the crazy workload. It also helps that the top line has been exceeding expectations. Speaking of which …

Johnny Gaudreau hit 100 points this season. This tops his previous high of 99 a few seasons ago. The best part about the accomplishment was Coach Sutter’s response that amounted to “who cares, we came to win a Cup.” Bless that man and his straightforward quotes.

Rasmus Andersson is going to be underpaid for the next four years. He signed a several year deal worth around $4.5M two years ago and GM Treliving must be pleased as punch for getting him to sign that.  He will be their number one d-man for a long time and we expect the next deal to be double what this one is.

If you are going hard after the Flames you should know that Elias Lindholm is on the verge of a 40 goal season. He is one of the best true centers in the league and played a pivotal role in Gaudreau’s success this year. This line is awesome to watch. Save a chunk of change on Johnny Hockey and get Matthew Tkachuk who is about to get PAID this off-season.

There is a good chance that Bryan Rust will be out of the lineup tonight. Check his status and if it looks unlikely then grab Rikard Rakell. Ricky Racks made a beautiful setup pass on Sidney Crosby’s 1400th point and is one of the bigger trades at the deadline that significantly improves the Penguins lineup.

One of Drake Batherson or Jake DeBrusk should crack your lineup today. Lick your side and enjoy the show. We are going to let that last typo slide because, haha, Brad Marchand joke. Batherson is back from his weekend on the toilet and scored a goal. He is light and free! DeBrusk seems to have finally found his groove and we called it the other day that he would prove it against the Lightning. He did just that.

You are probably looking for some extra centers and defensemen at this point. Joel Eriksson Ek has been a little too quiet for our tastes and could step things up a bit. Everyone is clamoring for Cale Makar and for good reason, but Devon Toews is one of the most offensive d-men in the league.

We are not specifically pulling for Vegas but Mark Stone is only $4,000.  Also, Mattias Ekholmsaw his price drop precipitously and we are not sure why. All the options!

Grind and slay. Grind and slay. Grind and slay.  Slay and Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Stay cool, friends.
