Did you order KFC yesterday? We did. Kyle Freaking Connor with a four point night. We love hitting those home runs and hope you were on base on for it. Today is going to be a whirlwind of trades so make sure to double check on your guys to make sure they are not getting shipped across the country. Some of the biggest deals of the day all revolve around goalies. Marc Andre Fleuryand Kappo Kahkonen have new homes, while Anton Forsberg and Karel Vejmelka each earned themselves a shiny new contract. We will let you know tomorrow how the dust settles.

Here’s a north star lineup For DFS Hockey 3/21/22 (using DraftKings Values)

We were going to go after Hampus Lindholm and the Boston Bruins just because we want to see what he does in Black and Gold but his debut will have to wait until Thursday. Instead we are interested in how the Minnesota Wild and Cam Talbot will fare. Vegas has been a little all over the place recently but have also shown some scoring prowess. The Wild need big wins like these to prove they can make it past the first round. Expect games overall to have a more playoff style feel to them now that the trade deadline is passing.

We were expecting Joel Eriksson Ek to take top center duties in Minny but Ryan Hartman has taken that from him and run with it. We still love Ek, but Hartman is the stronger play overall. The 24 year old has 25 goals and 21 assists on the season. Not too shabby.

The real gem of the day is Kirill Kaprizov. We were high on him as most people were but he has blown expectations out of the water. His $9,000,000 contract seemed a bit pricey at the time, but at only 24 years old and his current production, we cannot fault Bill Guerin for signing that deal.

• Two sub $5,000 wingers that are rock solid
• A defenseman who took power play one time and ran with it

We almost always try to swap and save, but in this case, you get what you pay for. Juuse Saros and the Nashville Predators are playing an Anaheim Ducks team that have been big sellers here in the last few days. They have parted ways with some big pieces such as Lindholm and they are not as good a team as they were last week. Sorry you have to pay a whopping $100 more for him. We will make it up to you somehow.

Our hands are tied when it comes to Devon Toews. He is still too good of a value to pass up. He and Cale Makar may be the most offensively gifted pair of defensemen in the entire league. They are a devastating one two punch that teams have trouble game planning around. Do not sleep on Charlie McAvoy either, that is a pittance to pay for a stallion.

Tyson Barrie is on an absolute tear right now. We put him on your radar recently because he regained top power play time in Edmonton and he has seized the moment. It will not be easy against Colorado but for that price and his current production he is a must own.

If you take our last pick of the day, you may want to upgrade Hartman to someone like Nazem Kadri. There are not too many options here that we feel great about without paying through the nose for Leon Draisaitl or Connor McDavid. Kadri is on another level this year.

We have some extra cash on hand but we love the pair of Zach Hyman and Valerie Nichuskin to choose between. Hyman has been a consistently bright spot on a dull Oilers team and Nichuskin is doing great on the top line for the Avalanche while Gabriel Landeskog recovers. If you have enough for Jonathan Marchessault, he will do very well being paired with the likes of Jack Eichel.

Admittedly it is a big risk but it is worth noting that Jack Studnicka may center the top line in Boston. He is a maybe due to injury but they need him in there and you know he will fight to play next to Brad Marchand. He is also incredibly cheap so it’s not the worst swing to take.

The week begins anew and it is already filled with surprise. We will not spend much time here because there are trades to digest! Please follow us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and have a great Monday.
