We only have four games on tonight’s NBA main slate, but there is a lot going on with all the injuries on these squads. We must start by talking about the New Orleans Pelicans, who are absolutely gutted right now with CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram on the sideline. We also like getting back to the Indiana Pacers, where there is some extra usage on the table without Malcolm Brogdon. The last team we are targeting tonight is the Phoenix Suns, who have a great matchup with no Chris Paul on the floor.

The New Orleans Pelicans offense is missing its two key pieces in McCollum and Ingram, so there is a ton of opportunity for other guys to step up. Devonte Graham was a priority for us last time out, and he ended up taking on a huge role. He went for over 40 FPTS, which was not surprising given all the injuries on this squad. Graham has been priced up significantly here, but we still like getting to him at $6,100. The Pelicans have an amazing matchup against Houston tonight, so the upside on these guys is amazing.
The Phoenix Suns have a great matchup against the Lakers tonight, and there is a lot of opportunity without Paul. Devin Booker is the guy when Paul is off the floor, as he takes a ton of usage with a fantastic assist rate. The price tag is very fair on Booker here at $9,200, so he is going to be one of our favorite guys to spend up for tonight.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 3/13/22 (using DraftKings Values)
In A vacuum Trae Young does not look bad here at $10,100, but he is a fade for us here as we have to many options we like more. We love spending up for Booker tonight, while Tyrese Haliburton and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander both really stand out. We also prefer getting to Ja Morant over Young, so he is low on the list of priorities.
Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• A star guard who must do everything for his team right now.
• A few cheap wings with massive upside.
• A stud center in the perfect situation tonight.
• Our strategy for Cash games vs. GPP’s here.
Point Guard
Tyrese Haliburton – ($9,000 DK) Whenever Brogdon is off the floor, we see Haliburton take a massive role. He shot the ball seventeen times last game while going for ten dimes, so there is a ton of upside in this spot. We really like getting back to Haliburton tonight, as we know how much he can take over in these situations.
Shooting Guard
Chris Duarte – ($4,800 DK) Staying with the Pacers, we really like getting to Duarte as a value option here. Duarte started without Brogdon last time out, and he played 34 minutes. He was solid with 27.5 FPTS, and we know he has upside for a lot more when he is seeing this kind of floor time. We expect Duarte to continue starting here, so he looks great.
Trey Murphy III – ($5,000 DK) Murphy was a priority for us last time out, and he was a winning play at low ownership. He crushed with 49.75 FPTS, as he took a whopping 20 shot attempts. We love getting back to Murphy tonight, as we expect that he earned himself more minutes with his ability to score last game. We do like Murphy more if he draws the start, but he should see solid run either way.
Naji Marshall – ($4,600 DK) Marshall started for the Pelicans last game, and he was fantastic with 35.5 FPTS. We are happy to get back to Marshall if he continues to start here, as there is upside for any of these guys to take over with the stars sidelined.
Deandre Ayton – ($7,200 DK) This Lakers matchup is fantastic for Ayton, as we know their frontcourt will struggle to deal with him. There is going to be a lot of usage on the table with Paul out, so Ayton could take over here. At only $7,200 he is easy to fit into our squad, and his upside is fantastic.
General strategy
For Cash games tonight we are going to be building around the Pelicans, as that’s where there is the most value. Graham, Marshall, Murphy, and Jonas Valanciunas are all guys we will be plugging in for Cash. We like all those guys for tournaments as well, but we are happy getting elsewhere to be contrarian. With only four games, we will have to be mindful of ownership with bigger GPPs. Kevin Porter Jr., Buddy Hield, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are all guys we like getting to in tournaments.
