There is a ton of value across nine games on tonight’s NBA DFS slate. We have a few teams dealing with key injuries, as the Toronto Raptors, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Oklahoma City Thunder are all missing some of their top producers. We are going to a stars and scrubs lineup here, as we have some fantastic budget plays with all the injuries. We also have some big questionable tags, which we will cover in our premium content.
Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 3/4/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Fred VanVleet will remain out tonight for the Toronto Raptors, so we expect Malachi Flynn to stay with the starting unit. Flynn was slightly disappointing last night with 19.25 FPTS, but he went for 35 FPTS or more in his two other starts. He is way too cheap tonight at only $3,900, so he is a priority for us if he continues to start.
It is surprising that Scottie Barnes has not been priced up, as he has been fantastic in all three games without VanVleet. Barnes has gone for 65.5, 40.5, and 41 FPTS in the three games, as he has had to take on much higher usage. Barnes is still only $6,300, which would be a solid price if VanVleet and OG Anunoby are both sidelined. With them both out, he is a lock for us tonight.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 3/4/22 (using DraftKings Values)
With a ton of options across nine games, we are not able to get to everyone tonight. One guy who we are passing on is Joel Embiid, who is too expensive at $11,800 tonight. Embiid has a tough matchup against the Cavaliers tonight, while a guy like Nikola Jokic is playing Houston. The presence of James Harden could also take away usage from Embiid.
Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• One cheap guard who is stepping into starting role.
• A budget wing with great upside.
• Two stars we are spending up for tonight.
• Some key news to keep an eye on.
Point Guard
Cameron Payne – ($4,800 DK) Payne started in his first game back, as the Suns are without Chris Paul and Devin Booker. Payne should start again, and we expect him to see more than the 20 minutes he played in the last game’s blowout. Payne went for 25 FPTS in just 20 minutes last game, as he had the ball in his hands a lot. This is a great spot for him, and the more games back he has the better he is going to get.
Shooting Guard
Malik Beasley – ($3,200 DK) Anthony Edwards is sidelined for the Minnesota Timberwolves, which opens a nice opportunity for Beasley. He is starting in Edwards’s absence and taking on a nice role in the Timberwolves offense. He went for 33 FPTS in this spot last game, and he is a lock at only $3,200 tonight.
Landry Shamet – ($3,600 DK) Shamet started for Booker last time and he went for 19.8 FPTS, which is not bad at this price. Shamet played 22.3 minutes, and he could have played more if it stayed close. He shot the ball 12 times, as the Suns are very low on scoring right now. Shamet looks great at this price tag, and he works well with our stars and scrubs build.
Pascal Siakam – ($9,100 DK) It is easy to fall into recency bias with Siakam here, as he has struggled in the last few contests without VanVleet. However, we know he is a terrific fantasy producer, and historically he is productive with FVV off the floor. We need some guys to spend up for that don’t use our guard spots, so we really like Siakam here.
Nikola Jokic – ($12,600 DK) Jokic is expensive tonight, but it is very easy finding the $12,600 with all of our amazing budget plays. Jokic is the best DFS producer in the NBA, and he has one of the best possible matchups against the Houston Rockets. With no other stars healthy on the Nuggets, the situation could not look any better for raw FPTS.
General strategy
There is already a ton of value tonight, and we could have even more be made available. Cade Cunningham is questionable for the Pistons, which could make Jerami Grant, Killian Hayes, and Cory Joseph look good. Thaddeus Young is also questionable, which would take one more body away from the Raptors. If he is out then guys like Precious Achiuwa are that much more likely to run into nice minutes. We also must watch what gets announced, as with nine games we usually get some news out of left field closer to lock.
