We have seven games to break down for tonight, with a solid amount of value to get to across the slate. One team we are going back to is the Miami Heat, who still have a lot of value to offer with Kyle Lowry on the sideline. We must talk about a few questionable tags here, as the status of Fred VanVleet and LeBron James will define what our lineup looks like.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 3/3/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardG. Vincent $4,500
Shooting Guard
Small ForwardJ. Butler $8,700
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward
Utility

Gabe Vincent was one of our core plays last night, and he smashed with 38.775 FPTS. Vincent is starting in place of Lowry, as he remains far too cheap for this role. Vincent is playing over 30 minutes a night right now, and he has the ball in his hands a good amount. We know Vincent should be over $5,000 when Lowry is not available, so he still offers some great value at $4,500.

Jimmy Butler has been disappointing lately, as he has turned in two straight poor shooting performances. He has also been falling short of the assist numbers we expect to see from him with Lowry off the floor. We are expecting the owner to be down on Butler tonight given his recent struggles, but we are going straight back to him in a great matchup against the Nets. Butler has a lot of upside, especially with the Heat shorthanded. Our spend-up options aren’t the best tonight, so a big game from Butler could make him a must-have.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 3/3/22 (using DraftKings Values)

We have been getting to Seth Curry a lot lately, as he has been the number one offensive weapon available for the Nets. With Kevin Durant returning to the lineup, that is not going to be the case. We do not expect Curry to do as much here and is too expensive at $6,100.

Point Guard

Malachi Flynn – ($4,200 DK) The Toronto Raptors have been without VanVleet for the past two games, which has led to some colossal opportunities for Flynn. Flynn has played 34 and 43 minutes in the past two games, going for 36 and 35 FPTS respectively. If we find out that VanVleet will remain out Flynn is an easy plugin for value. If VanVleet plays, we are going to be looking elsewhere.

Shooting Guard

Tyler Herro – ($6,300 DK) Herro was another priority for us from the Heat last night. He was dynamic with 48.75 FPTS, as he took on massive usage in Lowry’s absence. The price tag on Herro has come down to $6,300, and at this price, he would be a priority if everyone was healthy. With Lowry out in a great matchup, Herro is one of our favorite plays.

Small Forward

Scottie Barnes – ($6,400 DK) Barnes is averaging 32.6 FPTS on the season, so this $6,400 price tag is solid when everyone is healthy in Toronto. With VanVleet out over the past few games, Barnes has been exploding. He went for 40.5 FPTS last game and a whopping 65.5 FPTS in the game before that. Barnes has been a lot more aggressive on offense, so we really like him right now.

Power Forward

Robert Covington – ($4,200 DK) The Clippers are extremely low on options, and Covington has been playing a solid role. He has scored 32.75, 24.5, and 25.5 FPTS respectively over the past three games, and there is room for him to start seeing more minutes. He looks nice here with a good matchup against the Lakers, as this price tag is great.

Center

Trey Lyles – ($4,000 DK) Lyles only went for 11 FPTS in the last game, but he got the start again and everyone was limited in a blowout loss. He also shot one of five from the field, which we cannot expect to be repeated. He went for 34.5 FPTS in the game before

General strategy

We are going to use this space to talk about some of our key questionable tags for tonight. If LeBron James joins Anthony Davis on the sidelined, we will be all over the Lakers here. Talen Horton-Tucker, Carmelo Anthony, and Malik Monk all look fantastic if James sits. We also have Trae Young questionable, which could open a ton of value on the Hawks. Bogdan Bogdanovic looks solid if Young plays and will be a lock if he sits. Delon Wright would also be a lock at $3,100. Good luck tonight, and make sure to keep track of our key news.
