NBA DFS Advice for February 24, 2022

DeMar Rozan DFS

We have had a week off from NBA action due to the all-star break, and if your anything like me you cannot wait to get back on the DFS grind. There are seven games for us to break down tonight, as teams are looking healthier and more rested than we are used to. Two teams that are as gutted as ever tonight are the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Phoenix Suns, so they will be our priorities for value.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 2/24/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardR. Rondo $3,900
Shooting GuardD. Booker $8,800
Small Forward
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward
Utility

The Cleveland Cavaliers are missing both of their key guards tonight in Darius Garland and Caris LeVert. We know that one of Rajon Rondo or Brandon Goodwin will see a huge opportunity in their absence, so they both have a ton of upside at $3.900 and $4,000 respectively. For cash games, we will lock in whoever ends up in the starting spot, but for tournaments, we are higher on Rondo regardless. He had shown some massive upside before the all-star break, and he went over 40 FPTS in the last game without Garland.

This Sunday we found out that Chris Paul was going to be out for six to eight weeks with a fractured thumb. Paul does a lot for the Suns, so a few guys should have to step it up in his absence. We are starting at the top with Devin Booker, who has a lot more potential to take over the game here. Booker is always a high-usage guy, but he does even more when Paul is off the floor. The Suns have an easy matchup against OKC, so everything looks good for Booker here.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 2/24/22 (using DraftKings Values)

It has been a career year for my personal favorite player in the NBA, DeMar DeRozan, who was on fire going into the all-star break. However, DeRozan is all the way up to $10,700 tonight, which is about as expensive as he has been in his entire career. He is still only averaging 44 FPTS on the season, and the upside is just not there at this price.

Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• A cheap guard who should see a ton of floor time with Paul out.
• A stud guard with a ton of upside.
• A budget center who should step into the starting unit tonight.
• Our general priorities for Cash games and Tournaments.

Point Guard

Aaron Holiday – ($3,700 DK) The Phoenix Suns are missing their starting point guard in Paul tonight, and they don’t have Cameron Payne available as a backup. Newly acquired Aaron Holiday should be in for some nice run here, as they don’t have many other options. He is coming in at only $3,700, so we don’t need him to do all that much.

Shooting Guard

Bogdan Bogdanovic – ($5,400 DK) Bogdanovic was smashing going into the all-star break as he was averaging 35 FPTS across the ten-day span. He has been taking a ton of usage, and it is showing in his upside when he can get hot. It is surprising that Bogdanovic is not more expensive here, which makes him an easy priority for us.

Small Forward

Seth Curry – ($6,000 DK) Curry is getting expensive here, but the price is well warranted given the role he is playing in Brooklyn. Ben Simmons is still not available to play, so Curry is still going to be the Nets’ best player tonight. He has been taking massive usage over the last few games, a nice bump from what he was doing in Philadelphia to average 27.8 FPTS.

Power Forward

Kevin Love – ($6,200 DK) Love took on a massive offensive role when Garland was out before the all-star break, as the Cavaliers relied desperately on his ability to score. We expect to see a similar show tonight, and Love is coming in at a great price tag. Detroit is an easy matchup, so Love checks every box here.

Center

Trendon Watford – ($3,400 DK) The Portland Trailblazers are gutted here, as Jusuf Nurkic joins Damian Lillard on the sidelined. Watford is the only center option that the Blazers have left, so we expect him to start and play some solid minutes. We do not need much at this price, but the upside is there given the lack of big men on this squad.

General strategy

We have a ton of value here on our first night back from the break, as there is a lot going on between seven games tonight. For cash games we are going to build around our value priorities in Holiday, Bogdanovic, Watford, and whoever starts from the Cleveland guards. We like spending up for Nikola Jokic in Cash, as his floor is a lot better than other stars available. For tournaments, we are going to have exposure to everyone we have mentioned, while we will be looking for more high-upside options like Cade Cunningham or Anthony Edwards
