NHL DFS Picks For February 19, 2022

Patrice Bergeron DFS
NEWARK, NJ - JANUARY 14: Boston Bruins center Brad Marchand (63) celebrates with teammates Boston Bruins center David Krejci (46) and Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (37) after he scores during the first period of the National Hockey League game between the New Jersey Devils and the Boston Bruins on January 14, 2021 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. We are finally closing in on a time where we might toss Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl back on our list as the Edmonton Oilers are finally getting their stuff together. Yesterday was fascinating because there were some definite upsets, but even some of the teams that lost put up a great fight. As much as we malign the Philadelphia Flyers, they put up three goals on a tough Washington Capitals team as did the Kraken on the Jets. What could have been considered the least exciting match going into the evening turned into a 7-4 barn burner when the Columbus Blue Jackets smoked the Chicago Blackhawks. This league has an amazing level  of parity and by this time next year, we would bet that the standings will look quite a bit different.

Here’s a shiny lineup For DFS Hockey 2/19/22 (using DraftKings Values)

GoalieC. Petersen$8,300

We have contributed a bit to the storyline that Cal Petersen is giving up the starting goalie gig to Jonathan Quick. Looking at his numbers though, he is doing better than we realized. It looks as though it is the team letting him down more than him being the weak link in the chain. It is a back to back, but Cal is fresh and LA did a good job dispatching the dreaded Golden Knights in overtime.

Patrice Bergeron will still not have Brad Marchand at his disposal for two more games. He will make do with whatever wingers Coach Cassidy decides to pin to him. Bergeron is one of the best two way players in the game and can find the puck on his stick at any moment.

Matthew Tkachuk pulled off another between the legs goal and made it look easy. The 24 year old is not even in his prime yet and is making highlight reel plays all the time. He is one of those rare all around players that does absolutely everything on the ice. We have paid much more lip service to his younger brother Brady but Matthew is the real deal as well and the older brother is usually worth owning.

The Pacific division is an absolute dogfight this season. It may look like the Vancouver Canucks are down in the dumps but they win more than they lose and dealt with a lot of injuries and covid to start the year. Thatcher Demko has a fun matchup against semi-rival the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks are in a little bit of a slow down phase that they will want to get out of as quickly as possible, but we are not sure it will happen tonight.

Staying on the same team we are going 90 feet in front of Demko and taking captain Bo Horvat. He has the ability to get just a little better every year in exactly the department he needs to improve in. His scoring is on the rise and when he locks it in, it’s there for a long time.

Potentially as your utility guy or if you are not feeling the Nucks, Tim Stutzle and the Ottawa Senators are playing a Bruins team that is ever so slightly in flux. The Sens can easily surprise and Stutzle is gaining more confidence every game.

Charlie McAvoy is not in flux and will continue his impressive campaign. He and Matt Grzlyck have insanely good numbers together and make for a stalwart pair that other teams have trouble figuring out.

Oneaat defensive choice before we get into our platter of wings is between Tyler Motte and Matt Roy. Motte is our final Canuck thought for the day. He has settled in very well on this team and is a great cog in the machine. Hr is good for a few blocks a game. Matt Roy and the LA Kings have a game that should be on the slightly easier side against the Coyotes. Roy has been seeing his minutes increase as coaches have been impressed by his play. He probably won’t score for you but tonight is a good opportunity for him.

There are a few nice Calgary pieces for cheap today. Blake Coleman and Tyler Toffoli are the types of guys that can make a championship team.  We have our eye on Connor Garland who was making some nifty plays last game.
