Jack Eichel is back. Gone for almost two seasons due to a neck issue that caused a rift between himself and the Buffalo Sabres organization, he is back in Black and Gold. He will be centering the top line for the Vegas Golden Knights and everyone is waiting with bated breath to see how healthy the wunderkind is.
We could also spend an entire article just talking about how awesome all four matchups are tonight. Regional rivals Winnipeg and Minnesota will have it out for each other, Anaheim will try and slow the rising tide of Calgary, Florida comes off a very long break to face an ultra hot Carolina, and the Vegas Eichel’s take on number one Colorado. We are in for a wild ride tonight.

No goalie is safe tonight. We do not want to take any of them. The most obvious one to take will be Jakob Markstrom. He ended up getting the day off yesterday in favor of Dan Vladar. They have him ready tonight against a Ducks team that does not necessarily have trouble scoring goals but also has more trouble keeping them out of their net than some of the other teams.
The Florida Panthers got all of last week off to let other teams catch up in games played. This has given them the opportunity to rest up for a big matchup. We will take one fresh Aaron Ekblad, please. This offense’s power play runs through him and they are one of the most feared teams in the league.

DraftKings failed us yesterday. We had begun a write up about Tyler Toffoli and his move to Calgary, but they had not updated rosters yet so we were unable to take him. We did take Johnny Gaudreau who laid up one of the sickest aerial passes we have ever seen right to Toffoli in stride who made the goalie look a fool. Now here he is again and for a pittance of $3,100. This team is scary.
The Winnipeg Jets have had their troubles this year but no one is pointing a finger at Connor Hellebuyck. He has been playing very well and the Jets seem to be steadying the ship. Minnesota is actually one of the top goal scoring teams in the NHL, but anecdotally they have more of a likelihood to fall apart quicker and have a dud game. They are at a breakneck pace right now and we are not sure they can sustain it.
Jack Eichel should have some hesitation around him given how long it has been since he last played but Vegas is not going to just toss a guy on the top line without a significant amount of confidence. Surprisingly you can still get Sebastian Aho for a little cheaper than Eichel and we know he is the real deal. Aleksander Barkov is just a little more expensive but is well over half a goal a game which we struggle to comprehend.
One other solid center to focus on is Sam Bennett. He is like the fifth most talked about player on that team but has the same amount of goals as Barkov in just three more games. He is playing on the same line as league point leader Jonathan Huberdeau. This matchup could easily be an Eastern Conference Championship sneak peek.
One small piece of defense before we tuck into some more wingers, since this will raise our budget quite a bit. Brett Pesce looks like he gets three shots a game and is more than willing to put the body on the line to block a shot. He is just under half a point per game which is nothing to write home about nor is it something to sneeze at. Brady Skjei does get more power play time though and if you are chasing after the big totals, he might be your guy.
After all that with all the money we have left we cannot take our eyes off of Gabriel Landeskog or Troy Terry. We did not even get to touch any of the other Avalanche players which is a shame. If anyone is going to score against the Flames it will be Terry.
