The boys in blue got it done last night and Toronto continues its dominance. Solid picks all around. Today’s big focus is going to be on Washington and Pittsburgh. They are not playing each other but we like one of the matchups and we like one player from the other. The Penguins are up against state rival the Philadelphia Flyers. Nothing is going the Flyers way this year and we see nothing changing there. Over on the Caps, there is a player who has quite conspicuously not scored a goal in many games and not for lack of trying.

Alex Ovechkin is always going to be a shot machine no matter what. He is so close to the next record in goals, though, and he has to be feeling frustrated. It will not be an easy task against Juuse Saros and the Nashville Predators, but if anyone can solve Saros it is Ovi.
Kris Letang and the Penguins have a wonderful matchup that needs to get exploited today. With Couturier, Ellis, and Hayes out for the season there is not much that will be slowing the Pens down. More on them later.
Jakob Markstrom and the Calgary Flames are on a tear right now and just got bolstered by a big trade. That player is not going to be in tonight’s game, but we will remind you the next time they play that he is worth a grab. In the meantime, Markstrom is still a solid choice.

It must be backwards day because we are swapping Ovechkin for Johnny Gaudreau. It is a big savings and you have to give it to Johnny Hockey, he is producing at a crazy clip while Ovi is having some struggles and playing against one of the best teams in the league.
We have had great success taking Gabriel Landeskog over Nathan MacKinnon recently. He is the right price and still produces a much higher value. The Avalanche are the undisputed kings right now and Landy is wearing the crown.
Let’s close out defensemen and wingers to see what we have available for centers. Esa Lindell and Ryan Graves will be our easy picks to balance out your lineup. You only need one and both face tough competition. The whole reason to take either is to eat shots for breakfast. In that, they are both champions.
If you did take Ovi then you may as well stack Tom Wilson with him. Tommy boy has been increasing his offensive output while reducing his offensive output. That joke is way better heard than read. Basically, he score more and he hurt less. If you went with Gaudreau then consider Craig Smith who is enjoying top line time in Boston.
We would like to highlight one bright spot on the Flyers and that is Scott Laughton. He is their second line center and has been a quiet mainstay for awhile now. He has been producing and deserves no blame for any of the woes of the team. On the other side we are making sure Evan Rodrigues gets his due. He has cooled off with the return of Evgeni Malkin but much like Hyman yesterday, he can still make magic on the third line.
Centers will be a little slim today but it is fitting that Evgeni Kuznetsov is the right guy for our budget. The Preds are not invincible and the full weight of the Capitals top line will make them flinch.
Toss Erik Haula on the pile because reasons. The Bruins can deal with the loss of Marchand for a few games and Haula is busy earning his keep regardless.
