NBA DFS Advice for January 29, 2022

Tonight’s six-game NBA DFS slate poses the same problem as last night’s, we are still waiting on key injury news. The Pelicans have been without Jonas Valanciunas and Brandon Ingram for the past few games, while we saw Devonte Graham go down with an injury last night. All three are currently listed as questionable for the Pelicans, so there is the potential for them to be gutted here. We also have a huge questionable tag in De’Aaron Fox, who has missed the past three games for Sacramento. We will focus on some plays that will look great regardless of what news breaks, as well as some guys we are looking at if their teammates are ruled out.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 1/29/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point Guard
Shooting GuardK. Thompson $5,500
Small Forward
Power Forward
CenterR. Holmes $4,800
Guard
Forward
Utility

After not playing NBA basketball for almost three years, we as basketball fans have been eager to watch his return. His minutes have been picking up lately, playing a season-high 27 minutes in the last game. He is still very cheap at $5,500 here, and he is becoming increasingly enticing for DFS as he approaches the 30-minute milestone. He is already starting to look like himself as a shooter, so we know the upside is going to be there.

The Center position is absolutely stacked tonight, as there is a lot we can do with this position. One priority for us is going to be getting to Bam Adebayo, who is way too cheap at $7,300. Adebayo is averaging 38.7 FPTS on the season, and he looks fully healthy after a few weeks back from injury. Adebayo has a lot of upside in the matchup against the Raptors, who do not have a strong center to defend him.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 1/29/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Jayson Tatum has shown some good upside lately, but he is too expensive for us tonight at $10,200. Tatum is averaging 46 FPTS on the season, so this price is a bit too high for the level of production we can expect to see. The Boston Celtics are also without a single injury right now, which has not been a common occurrence for them this season.

Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…

Point Guard

James Harden – ($11,200 DK) With Kevin Durant sidelined for the Brooklyn Nets, Harden probably has the best upside in the NBA. He can go for massive triple-doubles, as we have seen in a few of his most recent performances. He exploded for 73 FPTS in the last game he played, and we know he is going to have the ball in his hands a lot again tonight. The Warriors have a solid defense, but they play fast so we are happy getting to Harden here.

Shooting Guard

Nickeil Alexander-Walker – ($4,600 DK) As we mentioned in our introduction, we are waiting on a ton of news out of New Orleans. The two big names that will impact NAW here are Ingram and Graham, as he has had a huge role in Ingraham’s absence. If one or both of those guys are out, we really like getting to Alexander-Walker at this price. He has scored 29.25, 47.5, and 29.75 FPTS respectively in the last three games, as he has had a huge role in the Pels starting unit.

Small Forward

Jimmy Butler  ($8,600 DKKyle Lowry has missed the last six games due to personal reasons, and we are unsure if he will play tonight. Butler looks solid at this price regardless of if Lowry plays, but he is a priority for us if Lowry remains out. He has had to take on more of a playmaking role in Lowry’s absence, which has led to some massive DFS nights.

Power Forward

Tobias Harris – ($7,600 DK) Harris was one of our favorite options going into the past few slates, as he has been too cheap with some injuries for the Sixers. He is still cheap here, and we will be getting to him a ton if Seth Curry remains out. He went for 39.25 FPTS in the last one, and we saw him explode for over 57 FPTS in the game before that. He has a lot of upside, and the Sixers have a fantastic matchup against the Kings tonight.

Center

Richaun Holmes – ($4,800 DK) Holmes is one guy who we like a lot tonight regardless of the injury news that breaks, as he is just way too cheap here. Holmes is averaging 27 FPTS on the season, and he has the upside to go for big games. If he remains under $5,000, we will be going to Holmes a lot.

General strategy

These are some of the toughest slates for DFS, as we are waiting on a ton of important information before we can finalize our lineup. We have focused today’s article on potential news that could break, and the priorities who will be opened if that is the case. The Pelicans have the potential to be our favorite value options here, as we would end up stacking them if all the questionable tags end up out. The Kings will also be priorities for us if Fox can’t play, as all of their remaining guards have a ton of his upside when he is not on the floor.
